One of the reasons the Career Navigator Program has been so successful is because we want our youth and young adults to understand that their current environment does not determine their future.

No matter where they come from, how they started, or what barriers they may have faced, there is life—and opportunity—beyond what they can currently see.

One of the most powerful ways we encourage them is through transparency. We don’t just tell them that success is possible; we share our own stories. We talk about where we came from, where we started, the obstacles we faced, and the journey it took to get where we are today.

Because sometimes a young person doesn’t need to see someone who has always had it together. They need to see someone who started where they are and kept going.

The skilled trades have changed—and in many cases, saved—lives by providing people with career pathways that allow them to earn a sustainable income, build financial stability, and create opportunities for their families. College is a great pathway, but it is not the only pathway to success. The trades offer another avenue—one that deserves to be presented, respected, and seriously considered. A young person can learn a skill, build a career, become an entrepreneur, and ultimately create wealth that can impact generations.

Our message is simple: Where you start does not have to be where you finish.
