The video below does an excellent job of presenting the principles involved in what we do here at EPC - plastic injection molding...
Press operators at EPC, play a crucial role in producing plastic parts.
This role involves operating and monitoring the injection molding machines, also known as "presses". Operators ensure that the production process runs smoothly, as well as inspecting the finished parts.
Belt and conveyor systems, along with robots, are also a component of a press operator's job:
Conveyor Belts: Finished plastic parts are placed on conveyor belts as they come out of the molding machine. The press operator lifts and removes parts from the conveyor belt, performs visual and tactile quality inspections, and then packs them. The operator is also responsible for any assembly that may be needed, such as adding foam padding or metal clips, for example.
Robots: At EPC, robots are often used to handle repetitive tasks, such as loading and unloading parts from the press or placing them onto conveyor belts.
The press operator works alongside these robots, supervising their operation and ensuring the quality of the finished parts.
