Precision Fiber, Inc. is looking to hire a Fiber Optic Technician Apprentice. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

The duties of this position include:
Build and re-enter splice enclosures and patch panels; including cable preparation
Fusion splice
Install connectors
Test using an OTDR and power meter
Audit, troubleshoot, and repair
Some installation and routing of fiber for inside plant termination
Following set standards in layout, craftsmanship, and appearance

As one of our Fiber Optic Technicians, you must be willing to travel throughout Oregon and Washington Monday through Friday. You must also possess the following qualities and characteristics:

Have and maintain a clean driving record - no major infractions
Pass mandatory background check - no criminal activity
Utmost pride in craftsmanship
Self-motivated
Follow instructions explicitly
Appreciate and accept supervision and feedback
Good verbal communication skills
Personable
Work in extreme seasonal elements
Excellent record keeping skills
A professional attitude at all times
Calm, level-headed, problem solver
Maintain equipment cleanliness

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour for first 90 day probationary period. Rate increase after 90 days and again at 1 year. Weekly pay period.

Overtime hourly rate, and prevailing wage rates are available, plus generous benefits package which includes vacation/sick/holiday pay, health insurance including vision and dental, and an IRA account with company contribution.

Our company is a small, fun, energetic group. It is important for us to maintain a good work/life balance, so our technicians are home on the weekends with very few exceptions.
