The Sustainable Development and Sustainability Institute of East Africa (SDSIEA) was established in May 2013 with the main purpose of improving the understanding of the significance and importance of the concepts of sustainability development and sustainability in the development processes of East African communities and Africa in general. The work of the Institute is aimed at expanding developmen

In endeavoring to accomplish its goals and objectives, which are eloquently expressed in another section, the Institute works with domestic and international organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations in addressing matters germane to the strategic and comprehensive development of East African countries. Its educational, consultancy and advising roles in the region promote efforts to protect and conserve the environment, promote economic growth and cultural awareness. Through its international Advisory Board, the Institute establishes excellent targets in order to make a difference in the region. Established out of the recognition of the plight of the environment, the decline in biodiversity, water pollution and shortage, the threat to major biomes like forest, energy issues, poverty problems, urbanization issues, natural hazards, the Institute focuses on education, informing and enlightening the public on matters pivoted on improving communities preserving and conserving the heritage of the region. All its initiatives are geared toward empowering the inhabitants of the region through capacity building. The Institute's work is both applied and theoretical as any other think-tank in the world.
