If you think you can lead well, communicate clearly, and make good decisions while youโ€™re dysregulated (read: a hot mess!), you're kidding yourself!

Most people try to push through stress.

I have one word for you on that: Donโ€™t.

Here's a tip: Regulate firstโ€”then execute.

Why?
Because when your nervous system is activated, your thinking gets narrow, your tone gets sharp, and your decisions get sloppy.

Thatโ€™s not a character flaw.
Thatโ€™s just biology.

So instead of forcing performance in a stressed state, use this simple reset:

Regulate โ†’ Reorient โ†’ Respond

Hereโ€™s how it works:

๐Ÿ”ด First, Check your state!
Are you:
โ€ข Clear (Green)
โ€ข Stressed (Yellow)
โ€ข Overwhelmed (Red)

If youโ€™re not in Green, you're better off taking a pause to follow these steps:

๐Ÿซ Step 1: Breathe
Inhale for 4 counts
Exhale for 6 counts

Do that for 2 minutes. But even one round will be helpful!
(Longer exhales calm your systemโ€”that's science, not fluff.)

๐Ÿ‘ Step 2: Reorient
Look around and name:
5 things you see
4 things you feel
3 things you hear
2 things you smell
1 thing you taste

This pulls you out of stress loops (oodaloops!) and back into the present moment.

๐Ÿง Step 3: Reset your body
Drop your shoulders
Release your jaw
Shake out your hands
Take a slow breath

This is your body telling your brain that youโ€™re safe.

๐ŸŽฏ Step 4: Choose your next move
Ask yourself:
What actually matters right now?

Then take one clear step.

Thatโ€™s it!

No overthinking.
No spiraling.
No reacting just to relieve the pressure.

Just grounded, intentional action.

When youโ€™ve committed to being kinder to yourself (not soft, but kind), you begin to see whatโ€™s worth keeping and whatโ€™s not.

Here are a few green flags to look for in any relationshipโ€”professional or personal:

โœ… ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—น ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†. Feedback is offered to support your growth, not to control or embarrass you.

A dream without a deadline is just a wish.
A goal without a plan is just noise.
And action without intention? Thatโ€™s a burnout recipe.

For far too long, I kept my dreams tucked awayโ€”safe, vague, unfinished.

Tired of watching others move while I second-guessed myself.

So I wrote it down.
I set a date.
I mapped it out.
