Tomorrow we’re holding an Open House for RecruitNY from 9am to 12pm at both fire stations.

Stop by either station to check out the buildings, our trucks, and our equipment. While you’re at it, feel free to ask questions and fill out an application — we’re always looking for new members!

If you drive by Station 1 on Graves Street, you might notice that every Thursday night there’s a bunch of vehicles parked in the lot around 6:30 PM.

Over the course of the last year, we’ve held Thursday Duty Night. Members gather at the station to do maintenance, conduct training evolutions, socialize, and most Thursdays even share a meal together. Occasionally, while they’re at the station, we get toned out for an emergency call and are out the door with well-staffed crews in a fraction of our normal response time.

Tonight was no different. Members spent their Thursday night working on hose lays and advancements. They even got a chance to pull out 14-8-1 and stretch out its 100’ aerial platform ladder.
