Here at Semper Digital Solutions I take pride in my time in the Marines and the multiple tours to Iraq I have done.

However today I want to honor my great uncle, Samuel Adam “Sam” Morrow Jr.

Uncle Sam was a United States Marine who served in Vietnam. He was a Lance Corporal, a decorated Marine, a recipient of three Purple Hearts, a POW and the only Marine in his platoon to survive.

I served in the Marines myself and did multiple tours to Iraq, but I say this with all humility: I couldn’t begin to lace this man’s boots.

Men like him carried a weight most people will never understand. They endured things that were rarely talked about, came home different, and still found a way to keep going. His courage, sacrifice, and strength are part of our family’s legacy, and I’m proud to say his name today.

His awards and honors included:

Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Frame

Memorial Day is about remembering those who gave everything in service to this country. It is also a day to remember the brothers they lost, the families who carried the grief, and the survivors who lived with the memories for the rest of their lives.
