Wild Game Cook

Wild Game Cook Cooking wild game and inspiring others to try new ways to enjoy it. Have you tried something new lately?

Wild Game Cook was started in 2013 to provide average everyday sportsmen and women with ideas and dishes they can tackle at home. Most of what we make is made with ingredients that are easy to find, and do not go to waste after using them just once. I love the occasional gourmet dish, but its not always in the budget, nor do we have the time with kids/work. We cook a lot with the flavors we like a

nd most of dishes involve searching google for a recipe that looks like our style, other times, it just comes together. I do occasionally take the time to write a recipe down and I will share those with you on this page from time to time. My goal is to inspire others to get outside of their comfort zone with their .

Father's Day breakfast to kick off the day. A couple of hard fried eggs in my "new" Revere Ware skillet with leftover deer steak. πŸ³πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Also got to breakout for the Camp Chef Gridiron Gameday for the first time and make quick work of some pancakes for the kids. πŸ₯ž

Now off to do some fishing at the camper and range time. 🎣πŸ’₯

One of the best things about hosting private cooking events is making dinner with the leftovers. 🀌🏼

The ol' test run of our 1939 A5. πŸ‘€

Probably ran the first 15 or so just fine before starting to have cycling issues. You can see at the end of the video a slow mo of it not ejecting and then one where it did.

Many people mentioned that may be the case, I guess I was hoping for just a smooth range visit. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Fortunately, it sounds like its an easy fix. Looking forward to getting it running smoothly again! Such a great piece of history and it shoots very well!

Feel free to chime in if you have any experience with these and getting them to cycle after likely some lengthy time in a closet.

Massive estate sale find today. 🀯

Pre WWII A5 Special Steel 12ga with a 26" barrel and modified choke. All original s/n. I believe it was made approx. 1938-1939 based on s/n. πŸ‘€

I've always heard about Belgian made Brownings and now I own one that I hope will remain in our family forever. ❀️

It is in excellent shape, minimal surface rust to speak up, mostly on the forearm k**b. Original buttplate is a little beat up which is expected given its age and likely field use. πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

Also snagged this full box of old ammo. Would be cool for it to sit on the shelf, but those # 5s and this shotgun would make for a great rabbit hunt! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Anyone out there tell me some things to know or look for regarding this awesome firearm? πŸ€”

Just got home from Summit. Shared the kitchen with some great chefs. Got to meet a lot of great people and catch up with a few as well.

Thanks and for the donations to help make this event a success!

This was my first time helping cook for a large number of people (100+) and sharing the kitchen with experienced chefs. Definitely a fun and learning experience!

Thanks for having me!

Until next time. 🫑

Added a few vintage cookbooks this weekend to the collection. They needed some color, and the top shelf needed some space, so of course I pulled down 's first book to make it pop. Quite fitting having it to the James Beard's American Cookery (1972 2nd addition) Cookbook.

Other additions were Julia Child's "The Way to Cook" (1989), "Julia Child & Company" (1978), "Julia Child & More Company" (1979), and Michael Field's Cooking School" (1965).

I wish I had grabbed the rest of the collection at the estate sale. Many books, but they were more modern so I passed.

Not bad for $1/book. 😎

The Mrs. got this massive square basket thing...we each made concessions. πŸ˜…

Celebrated a big milestone today with Mrs. Wild Game Cook. 20 years! 😘

She's been with me this entire journey and has encouraged me along the way to keep chasing my dreams. πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

She bought me this awesome custom cutting board which I can use at events as well as at the house. πŸ’ͺ🏼

The kids and I got her a mother's day/20th anniversary Mother's pendent with each of the kids' birthstones. ❀️

We had a nice dinner without the kids at Bella Sorella Pizza Co., LLC. πŸ•πŸ€ŒπŸΌπŸ€ŒπŸΌ

Then back to the house for ice cream and brownies. 🀀

Not before doing a little thrifting before heading home. 😎

Love ya Babe. 😘😘
