Leaving our communities better than they found them.

Over the weekend, Jan Lovell received Central Gardens of North Iowa 2026 Monarch Recognition as the inaugural recipient of the award. The recognition honors lasting leadership, environmental stewardship, and a commitment to conservation, education, community engagement, and service.

Jan's passion for serving North Iowa has helped shape not only our communities, but also the culture of CLtel. Her leadership continues to inspire our team to invest in people, support local causes, and strengthen the places we call home.

The Monarch Award was named after the monarch butterfly because a pollinator's influence reaches far beyond a single flower, helping an entire environment flourish. Central Gardens shared that they see that same quality in the people they hope to recognize through this award. It's a fitting reflection of Jan's ability to encourage others to get involved, give back, and make a difference.

Congratulations, Jan, on this well-deserved recognition.

John Quintus is celebrating 45 years with CLtel.

His journey started as a summer job on the construction crew at age 16. By 19, he was working here full-time. Since then, he's been part of the work happening behind the scenes to help keep our communities connected.

This afternoon, stories were shared. Memories were relived. And somewhere between the root b**r floats, cookies, and old scrapbook photos, we celebrated something pretty special.

Seeing those scrapbook photos alongside the stories shared today was a reminder of many chapters that make up 45 years, making this celebration even more special.

Congratulations, John, on 45 years with CLtel. Here's to 45 years of memories and a few more stories still to come.
