Inconsistent sales performance is rarely random.

It’s usually one of two things:
1. Lack of willingness to improve
2. Lack of coaching

I saw this play out with a new client in the legal space.

One rep consistently hitting quota.
One rep missing for 6+ weeks.

After 2 coaching sessions and call reviews…
She hit her weekly number.

The difference wasn’t talent.

It was:
– Immediate implementation
– Real desire to improve
– Openness to correction

Strong salespeople don’t start off insanely skilled, they must first must be coachable and committed to getting better.

If you’re scaling a business, really take a look at these two points before giving up on your team. It costs way more to replace than to coach.

Some business owners think selling the next opportunity while delivering the current one feels… desperate.

I just spoke with a client who told me it felt uncomfortable to bring up what’s next as she was wrapping up a project—but she did it anyway. And I acknowledged her for it, because most people I speak to don’t have that weaved into their process.

When you don’t sell what’s next, you’re forced to constantly refill your pipeline with brand-new deals.
New conversations.
New trust.
New sales cycles.

That takes time. A lot of it.

But when your next deal comes from the one you just delivered it means shorter sales cycles, better clients, and more predictable revenue.

What would change if every client you signed turned into a long-term relationship instead of a one-off project?

I recently did a course called Salvaging A Marriage to strengthen my marriage and be more intentional as a partner.

One excerpt hit me hard… Communication and Responsibility ride the same elevator.
When one goes down, so does the other.

What I didn’t expect was realizing this isn’t just about marriage.
It’s about everything.

Business.
Leadership.
Parenting.
Life.

Wherever communication drops, responsibility follows.

I have a stronger bond and unity with my wife, and as I’ve applied this principle to my kids, friendships and in business I’ve seen myself handle things in much better ways than I would have previously.

Hope this inspires or helps you!

No decision is still a decision, and it keeps you exactly where you are.

Softball! Sports! The next level of parenting. Getting them to practice and games on time, well fed and hydrated. Making sure they have the right gear. Pivoting between the siblings’ games at the same or different fields while caring for the younger two. Balancing this between growing our businesses, homeschooling, church and community events, and pursuing our other commitments… Well it’s a lot! And that’s what we signed up for. Wouldn’t change a thing ❤️‍🔥

Feeling stuck? You’re not alone! When things aren’t moving, when you feel like you’re putting the most effort and work you’ve ever put in, and yet still nothing… Well that is one of the toughest spots to be in. Here’s a few tips that help me get exterior to the problem so I feel like I can better assess, strategize, and take impactful action…

1. Look back at when you were last doing your best and really trace back from the results what you exactly were doing. If you’re in sales maybe you see the bulk of your closes were coming from a particular lead source, or you had a different structure / flow line you contacted and sold the leads by. Maybe you just dropped out the basics like actually following your script, reviewing your recorded calls, etc. something changed and when you find the thing that changed and revert back to it, you will see a spike come back.

2. Break down your goal into sub-goals and track them religiously. Evaluate the data on a regular basis (recommend weekly) and adjust the sub-goals based on how things are converting. Goals are achieved by keeping your eye on the leading metrics on a regular basis and truly “running yourself” off of these targets.

3. Get a trusted outsider’s perspective. When you’re stuck in your situation and the day to day of it all, it can be easy to lose your certainty on what to do. Having a confidant that creates a safe space for you to be real with them, a true judgement free zone, that also understands the mechanics of what you’re trying to do IS INVALUABLE. This can be a founder that’s done what you want to do, or an executive at another company that is over the same area of difficulty you’re experiencing. And yes it could even be someone like me, a consultant. I’ve personally helped over 300 companies scale their sales and operations over the last 8 years. Every week I leave a few slots open on my calendar to provide free scaling sessions. It’s one of the ways I get to learn new industries, stay sharp, and feel like I’m contributing to others in a way that’s meaningful. If you think that’d be helpful you can comment or DM me and we’ll set it up :)

Happy 5th birthday Rosie 🌹

You are so uniquely you. What you like, what you dislike, what you’re going to do, what you DEFINITELY WON’T do - there’s no gray area and that is so admirable 😂

Enjoy this special day, Tiger Ro Ro. I’m thankful you chose us as your family ❤️

Throwback to 2019. My 2nd year in consulting. The first was the toughest period in my professional career and that weighed heavy on our young family. Still, Alex back then remained optimistic and resilient to figure it out. I’m happy to report back to him what a tremendous difference there is, 6 years later. Way to hang in there!

Being a father reminds you of living life with determination, fearlessness, just making a decision and going for it without worrying about the past. Sunny Mae as long as I’ve known her has always acted this way. It startles other adults around us the way we just let her embark on her ideas. She is a constant inspiration, and I feel we can all learn so much from our younger generation so long as we don’t enforce our own insecurities and fears onto them 🙂

I am beyond beyond lucky to have an incredible spouse and partner in business as

Choosing the right partner can make or break everything.
Whether it’s your spouse, your business partner, or both — who you choose to build with determines not just your success… but your peace.

When you’re building something together — a business, a family, a dream — alignment matters.

Beyond love and shared vision there needs to be communication, structure, and staying on the same team no matter what.

From my last 8 years coaching business partners, here are 3 simple rules for thriving together (in business and in life):

1. Know each other’s goals and commit to supporting them.
Talk about what drives each of you. Even if your goals are different, you should both feel seen and supported. That’s the foundation that lasts.

2. Divide responsibilities by strengths. Even if you’re both good at the same things, pick a primary and a backup. Own your lanes so you can trust each other to handle yours fully.

3. Have regular “leadership meetings.” Whether it’s just you two or a hundred employees deep — make time to check in.
Talk about what’s working, what’s not, and how you both feel about the direction you’re headed.
