Cold cuts, should I eat them?
If you can skip cold cuts, I would, here's the reason why.
1.Cold cuts are loaded with sodium, consuming too much sodium can increase your risk of stroke and high blood pressure.
2.If they aren't organic they usually contain BHA/BHT and other preservatives that are known to cause cancer.
3.Also, Some cold cuts have dye in them to make them look more appealing.
4. Most cold cuts contain sugar. We already have enough sugar in other foods such as carbs and dairy, we don't need to add it to our protein too.
5. Bloat, if you are trying to lose weight and feel defeated, check out your sodium intake, it may be masking your weight loss.
I could keep going on and on about cold cuts but I will spare you!
It's ok to enjoy an occasional cold cut sandwich but,
If you do eat cold cuts on the regular it might be time to switch it up.
What other options do you have?
#1. Leftovers from the night before. You can take grilled chicken, hamburger, tacos, fish and re-heat the next day. This trick also forces you to make dinner at night, instead of eating out.
#2. Instead of a sandwich- have a salad. You can also make a bunch of chicken, steak or tuna to have for the week.
