Many of our members are in the path of Hurricane Milton; some of them still recovering from Huuricane Helene. We are praying for everyone and will be uniting as a community to help wherever we can.

One of Jesus' commands is to "Love your neighbor as yourself".Right now let's focus up on God through prayer. And, after this storm, let's focus out on those affected.

✨ Lessons from the Lighthouse: The Surprising Key to Productivity

🌅As beautiful as a lighthouse is on sunny days, it is really meant to be used during a storm, a steadfast guide through turbulent waters. Likewise, rest serves as our anchor amidst life's storms, offering us the clarity and strength needed to navigate challenges.

Some may think rest is idleness or laziness, but reality is, it's a necessity in the rhythm of our work. Think of July as the month of vacation. Vacation derives from the Latin word, 'vacatio,' meaning 'to vacate'—Let’s use this month to intentionally step away and rejuvenate our minds and bodies.

There are two types of vacation: one where we relax physically, perhaps on a beach 🏖or by a pool with a good book; and another, where we explore mentally, like exploring new cities🏙, taking a walk in nature. Both are vital to prevent burnout and can lead to greater productivity in the long run.

🌾Consider the fallow fields that farmers leave to rest for a season, only to yield more abundant crops later. We, too,need that rest to rejuvenate and produce more fruitfulness in our lives.

And then there's the reminder from Scripture—God Himself rested on the seventh day. If God saw the value in rest, shouldn't we? Yes! 🙌🏼

🌟Last month, Deb and I took a few days away from social media, seeking stillness and reflection. In that quietude and rest, we found clarity that sparked exciting new ideas. It's in these moments of stillness that the most profound insights often emerge, where we can hear God speaking and guiding us.

🌟Hey everyone! We're going on a social media fast! We'll be away for the next four days to focus on goal-setting and rejuvenation. During this time, we'll work on goals for the , our personal goals for the latter half of 2024, and our long-term life goals. Just like every lighthouse needs a touch-up to shine bright, we need some time to refresh and realign our goals.🛠️

There won't be a message on June 1st; instead, look for the monthly message on June 7th. We're starting a 30-day gratitude challenge in June, where we ask you to post something you're grateful for each day and tag the Lighthouse Collective. We will start as soon as we get back!

Additionally, last month, we challenged all of our fellow Lighthouse Keepers to post a video or message about how they have been a light to someone else.🕯️✨We would love for you to tag us in your video or message!

🙏🏼If you're praying people, please pray for our retreat. In the meantime, keep shining and be a light.

Here in Maine, we have a park on the coast that features twin lighthouses called Two Lights. As we cleaned out the shed today, we found this photo from 1957 of my dad (Murray MacMillan) and my Uncle John (Joyce) on the beach in Maine a few paces from where our cottage is today. They are my Two Lights. Two of the most influential men in my life. A reminder that when we are shining and being lights to so many, that we don’t forget about being legacy lights to those close to us as well. As our family (3 generations) gather here this week, and I am reminded of the two previous generations that loved Maine so much, I am so thankful for the purposeful and committed light bearing that they did for so many years.

In this case I absolutely agree! This is a must read for anyone in any type of leadership or influencer position. So good!

💐Mother. Mom. Mama. Matriarch. Lighthouse. There is nothing cooler than watching a child run to their mama. Except perhaps the joy a Mom has watching their child run to them.

We want to take a moment today to thank and honor all the Mothers out there. We thank you for your love. We thank you for your protection. We thank you for keeping us safe. For warning us of danger even though we didn't always heed the warning. For being a warm light on our sad days, and a bright light on our confused days. For always being there, constant and consistent. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!💕

One Purpose. One Legacy.
Deb and I are delighted to be serving at this Conference at Grace Family Church. A great question was asked … what marriages did you look at when you were young and say to yourself… That’s what I want to be like. The three that came to my mind… Were my Grandparents… Brigadiers Sidney and Jessie Joyce, my Aunt and Uncle… Don and Dorothy McMillan and at the church I grew up in… Bill and Gigi Titcombe.
I would ask you… who might be looking at your marriage? What are you demonstrating? Are you providing a great example?

Wow. What motivates them? It is easy. God First. Family Second. Those in need Third. And often 2 suffers because of 3. But 2 is taught how important 3 is and they get it. Very far down the list is anyone with plenty who want to take from the first three.
