Cleburne residents: Your next opportunity to dispose of household hazardous waste for FREE is Saturday, June 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Cleburne Conference Center (1501 W. Henderson St.).

This event provides a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of potentially hazardous household products that should not be placed in the trash or poured down drains.

Amazon Hub. It was an honor to see the new Amazon Hub today. This facility is Amazon’s first hub and if you live in North Texas and areas spanning multiple states, your Amazon package will go through Cleburne starting this August when they open.

A drive around the building spans two miles, the warehouse is climate controlled, the building is the first to use wood construction and Amazon has gone to great lengths to make the work space remarkable for the almost 1,000 people that will work there. And yes, the logistics and technology is state-of-the-art!

Amazon’s Cleburne hub will serve as the prototype for other hubs across the country. The partnership between Cleburne and Amazon on this facility will no doubt pave the way for other industry looking for a home. A century ago we opened the Santa Fe shops. In August, we will open Amazon’s first hub that will set standards for years to come.

It’s a great day in Cleburne!
