🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT – CR 1020 CLOSURE 🚧

Beginning Monday, Aug. 24, County Road (CR) 1020 will close to through traffic between Prairie Grove Lane and Hulen Street as construction continues on the Alsbury Phase II project.

We recognize this is a significant closure and will require some drivers to adjust their daily routes. The closure is necessary to complete this phase of work on the new Alsbury Boulevard connection between CR 1020 and Hulen Street.

What to expect:

• CR 1020 will be closed to through traffic from Prairie Grove Lane to Hulen Street
• Local traffic will continue to have access to the portion of CR 1020 west of Prairie Grove Lane
• The primary detour will use CR 914/Lakewood Drive, CR 1021, SW Wilshire Boulevard (SH 174) and Hulen Street
• An alternate detour will be available using CR 1016
• Drivers should plan for additional travel time, particularly during peak traffic periods

The closure is expected to remain in place through mid-November 2026, weather permitting.

We understand a closure of this length will affect residents who regularly travel this area and we appreciate your patience while this phase of the project is completed.

Big improvements are on the way for Lakeshore Park and the Lake Pat Cleburne area! The City is beginning a major project designed to enhance Lakeshore Park with new recreational amenities and gathering spaces while improving accessibility, traffic flow and supporting infrastructure throughout the area.

Construction begins July 6, and the East Boat Ramp will close beginning July 20 for the duration of construction activities in that area. The West Boat Ramp will remain open and available for public use throughout the project's estimated 18-month construction period.

DAMAGING WINDS possible tomorrow!

Storm coverage will be around 40-50% for North Texas, but this will be fine tuned as we get more confidence in boundary positioning in the morning. Regardless, there will be a damaging wind risk with any of the strongest storms (50-70mph)

NOT everyone will see storms, and NOT everyone who sees storms will see severe weather. My severe weather coverage is low- around 10%- but a few storms could spit out some severe winds.

Please be aware!

CFD crews will conduct a prescribed burn at the Lake Pat Cleburne dam area today, beginning at 10:30 a.m., to help prepare for the July Fourth fireworks show. The burn will also serve as a training opportunity for firefighters pursuing their Wildland Firefighter Certification.

Residents may see smoke in the area throughout the day. The burn is planned and controlled, and fire dispatch has been notified should additional resources be needed.
