Lake County will operate a cold-weather shelter at LifePointe Church, 3551 E. Orange Ave. in Eustis, on the following nights:

Tuesday, Jan. 27 (opens at 5 p.m.; closes at 7 a.m. Wednesday)
Wednesday, Jan. 28 (opens at 5 p.m.; closes at 7 a.m. Thursday)
Thursday, Jan. 29 (opens at 5 p.m.; closes at 7 a.m. Friday)

Lake County will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates if conditions change. Additionally, the shelter operates only overnight and does not operate between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on any day of operation.

Lake County’s Office of Emergency Management is also coordinating with the Salvation Army in Leesburg to operate a daytime warming center at 2605 South St., open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, Wednesday, Jan. 28, and Thursday, Jan. 29.

LakeXpress, the County’s fixed-route bus service, will provide free transportation for residents riding to the shelter utilizing the following shuttle schedule. Residents may ride LakeXpress for free to the Citizens or Ardice Transfer Centers from any LakeXpress bus stop by telling the driver they’re traveling to the cold-weather shelter.

Residents who are unable to access a LakeXpress route or reach a shuttle stop and need transportation to the cold weather shelter may call Lake County Connection at (352) 742-2612 before 2 p.m. each day to make arrangements.

The shelter will close at 7 a.m., and Lake County buses will be available at that time to transport residents to their regularly scheduled shuttle stops.

Saturday, January 17th, the City of Clermont will once again be giving away FREE Saplings.
📍Location: Lake Hiawatha Preserve, Lakeside Pavilion.
📍450 12th St., Clermont, Florida
🕑Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or as long as supplies last!
We will be offering several hundred Bald Cypress and Slash Pine saplings. Make plans to come out and pick up yours!

🎅 Santa’s Safety Tour is Coming to Clermont! 🚓🚒✨

Each year, our firefighters and police officers proudly chaperone Santa as we spend two full days traveling through the community spreading holiday cheer. We’re excited to continue this tradition while ensuring our first responders stay ready and well-supported throughout the event.

📸 During the tour, Santa will stop at designated parks across the City of Clermont for quick meet-and-greets and photo opportunities. Bring the kids and come share in the magic!

🎄 December 20th Schedule

10:00 AM – Park Pal (Santa departs at 10:40)

11:00 AM – McKinney Park (Santa departs at 11:40)

1:00 PM – Waterfront Park (Santa departs at 1:40)
