BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "DECIDING WHICH PATH GOING FORWARD!"

We are often asked for objective recommendations and assistance when making decisions concerning which path to choose in going forward.

PROCESS: In fact, what our newest client shared is that she sought input from our "Business Tips" when it came time to consider an offer from her employer focused upon a job promotion.

TIMELINE: She was given a definitive timeframe to make up her mind and, despite input from her coworkers, family and acquaintances; she did not feel as though their input was nearly enough.

DON'T PUSH BACK: Of course, some would question what could be gained from outside input, but in this case, she told us that once she accepted the job promotion, she gave reflective thought as to whom to thank above and beyond her boss and others.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: That's when she contacted us and scheduled the meeting, which resulted in the hiring of our company to improve and expand her organization's sales and revenues. We sincerely look forward to our relationship going forward.

CONTACT: As you can see from our "Business Tips Of The Day," we have become more and more of a "go-to" answer. So, to tangibly assist you with solving your challenges, issues, problems, barriers and needs, contact The Cavalry, Inc.

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "PERIPHERAL VISION IS A MUST!"

While the process of achieving objectives and goals includes the mandatory need to look ahead and back, the side-to-side vision is often overlooked. Why?

PROCESS: Because what is happening ahead denotes the future while looking back reveals what has already occurred. However, the ability to look side to side will offer a panoramic view of what is often unseen, unknown or missed altogether.

TIMELINE: Watching a driver back out of a parking lot, his time and attention was totally focused upon looking forward and back while another customer walked up beside him and, suddenly the driver slammed on the brakes.

DON'T PUSH BACK: Of course, agreement on the need to look ahead and back is universal, but we can also miss the opportunities or challenges appearing beside us altogether.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: Speaking with a group of clients over this past weekend and discussing the subject of peripheral vision, a majority of them stated, "We've often missed what's going on beside us, but thanks to your tangible assistance, we now remember to use our peripheral vision!"

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "REACHING THE NEXT MILESTONE!"

Whenever objectives and goals are established, it is critical to confirm what milestones must be reached in order to know, without question, you are on the right path and moving ahead!

PROCESS: These milestones can be revenue, net margins, new and/or existing customers, expanding territories and/or solving new and existing challenges, issues, problems, barriers and needs.

TIMELINE: The timing for reaching the milestones must also be confirmed and agreed to by the organization so that everyone knows his or her role and is an integral part of the achievements.

DON'T PUSH BACK: Whenever someone new enters the group and did not have any input into the milestones, it is also critical they be informed as soon as possible, so their reply is not based upon lack of knowledge and, in turn, push back.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: And because milestones can often become the motivation needed, the measurement of achieving milestones and the communication of reaching and exceeding them cannot be underestimated and rewarded!

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "CONGRATULATE ALL AROUND!"

Speaking with several prospective clients over the weekend, each of them asked about the need to take time to congratulate their own organizations when objectives and goals are achieved.

PROCESS: What is often overlooked or forgotten is that to a greater or lesser extent, everyone in the establishment plays a key role in obtaining and keeping customers. Why? Because unless everyone is doing their jobs successfully, the chances of not meeting or exceeding customer's goals are exponentially increased.

TIMELINE: And the key element, which is often missed, is the timing of the congratulations and "thank you's" to those same individuals.

DON'T PUSH BACK: It was interesting to note that for each of these individuals, the timing was often pushed back because of everything else going on and, in some cases, the "thank you's" never occurred.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: Bottom line? Unless everyone is doing their job ... responsible for their part of the success ... never ignoring their duties ... the outcome can easily affect the customer's perception and, potentially, affect the success and longevity of the organization.

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "CROSSING THE FINISH LINE!"

Are you ready for the cheers, hoorays, celebrations, canons firing and incredible sounds when you cross the finish line?

PROCESS: Then, suddenly, just as you cross the finish line, you realize you are actually behind your desk or at the store counter or driving to your next appointment or? The fact is you are in the race ... heading towards the goals you have set ... but you have not, as yet, crossed the finish line.

TIMELINE: And how long has the race been going on? A minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month, a year or even longer!

DON'T PUSH BACK: The bottom line is we are all in one race or another and the number one challenge we all embrace is to have enough stamina ... energy ... desire ... and focus to actually start the race ... keep going ... head towards the finish line ... and, then, cross it and win.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: What is the overwhelming trait here? Make the decision you are going to run the race ... do the very best job possible ... and congratulate yourself, your team members, family, friends, relatives and acquaintances when you cross the finish line for a job well done.

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "SPEED TO THE FINISH LINE!"

Yesterday we had the honor to meet with a former client who has asked that we consult with him again as he moves into the future.

PROCESS: The description he used was, "Speed to the finish line." In other words, not unlike many other businesses, he has reached a point where growth has taken a backseat to other challenges, issues, problems, barriers and needs.

TIMELINE: In fact, according to our former client, growth has been stagnant for at least two years and he is ready to accelerate again.

DON'T PUSH BACK: Obviously, there are specific reasons why the growth has slowed or stopped, so in addition to one-on-one, face-to-face interviews with many of our former client's team members, we will also be meeting with a group of their customers - one on one - to gain new insight.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: Because we had reminded him how critical financial measurements are in defining the success of the first program, he asked that we look over his financials and make specific recommendations based upon how quickly he and his organization can regain and speed to the finish line!

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "ON YOUR MARK ... GET SET ... GO!"

With spring approaching at a furious pace ... it is now perfect timing to start ... rev your engine ... and speed down your own straight a way.

PROCESS: In other words, after skiing, snowmobiling, relaxing, enjoying, partying and sleeping ... your new and successful horizon is only as far as you wait, slow down or stop moving ahead.

TIMELINE: And, what better timing than right now with everyone focused upon their responsibilities, seeking the upcoming objectives, goals and achievements that will be in focus as we move into the spring and summer seasons!

DON'T PUSH BACK: Whether you are attacking the easiest goal post or the most difficult challenges, starting today will begin the process of securing your personal and professional celebrations rather than sitting back and waiting for some distant, future time.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: You name what is the least and most important to you, your family, your friends, your associates and start, "ON YOUR MARK ... GET SET ... GO!"

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "A MINIMUM OF THREE OPTIONS!"

Whether you are considering a personal, professional or other decision, why is it so critical to have a minimum of three options before moving ahead?

PROCESS: How many times have you received an offer ... or accepted a significantly reduced proposal ... or decided to move ahead knowing you are short changing yourself, your organization or others?

TIMELINE: We have all done it and what usually determines the outcome is, in fact, a lack of available options and timing.

DON'T PUSH BACK: Just yesterday we were speaking with a neighbor whose house has been on the market much longer than he or his family ever anticipated. So, he asked me, "I know you believe in a minimum of three options, but this is the only offer we've received in over a year. What would you suggest we do?"

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: When he shared with me the offer on their home and we sat down and went over the numbers, what he and his family will take away from the sale will be akin to living in the house for a year ... not a decade. What would you do?

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "GROWING SALES REVENUES AND NET MARGINS!"

We hear on a consistent basis from individuals, companies and organizations via their calls, texts and emails, which are focused upon the need to grow their sales revenues and margins.

PROCESS: And, the fact of the matter is a local organization, Silicon Couloir, has supported us in our efforts to offer and conduct one-on-one sales development training for locals and out of area clients. In fact, we offer four, one-on-one, two-hour sessions focused upon our client's specific sales challenges, issues, problems, barriers and needs.

TIMELINE: The timeline can be immediate, face-to-face or by SKYPE training.

DON'T PUSH BACK: On Friday we met with one of our clients for the third time and he informed us about how much tangible, measureable help and growth we had already provided to him while moving ahead.
Furthermore, he signed up for another set of four, two-hour sessions in order to continue the process and grow her organization.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: Based upon conducting sales education/training/skill-development for many years, growing sales revenues is based upon measurement. In other words, monitoring net margin improvements and comparing increased revenues.

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "THE PAST IS BEHIND US!"

No one would argue that much can be learned from the challenges, issues, problems, barriers and needs from the past. But, leaving the past behind is, ultimately, critical to stop focusing upon what you should have done or cannot change and decide to move ahead.

PROCESS: In fact, we have been asked to conduct an education/ training/skill-development program centered upon moving ahead while gaining incredible knowledge and support from what has already occurred in the past.

TIMELINE: How many of us have become mired in the by gone days and, in many cases, unable to completely move ahead no matter how hard we try over days, weeks, months or even years.

DON'T PUSH BACK: And, please note, we are not saying to ignore the lessons learned from the past. Rather, we are saying to focus upon the future while learning and respecting the lessons gained from the past.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: Therefore, by taking the time normally focused upon what has already occurred in the recent or distant past, we can all utilize the time to focus upon the future and gain new and measureable successes.

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "RAISE THE STAFF TO A NEW LEVEL!"

Whether you are the owner, manager, leader, seasoned team member or the newest hire in an organization ... what is the most successful method to raise the staff to a new level?

PROCESS: Providing accurate directions ... listening and, then, rapidly answering questions and objections and/or supporting the staff with "pats on the back" and celebrations can make an incredible, measureable difference.

TIMELINE: Furthermore, support, assistance and motivation can begin the day of hiring and continue until the day of retirement.

DON'T PUSH BACK: And, while it would be fair to say that you may not receive the recognition you deserve, don't you think the reaction of the team to your drive, inspiration and enthusiasm will affect you and raise the staff to a new level?

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: Discussing this subject with several of our clients over the past week, the question we were asked again and again was simply, "What's the best, most successful way to raise our staff to new levels?"

BUSINESS TIP OF THE DAY - "HOW BEST TO MOTIVATE TEAM MEMBERS!"

Bonuses are always thought to be the best path towards motivating a team. But, would you be surprised to learn that everything from "a pat on the back," to time off, to major recognition can be every bit as successful?

PROCESS: The fact is motivation is not always about money. In fact, many people react very favorably to focus, attention, public and private recognition and "thank yous!"

TIMELINE: The timing, of course, is critical, so not too much time should pass before the motivation of choice is employed, offered and presented.

DON'T PUSH BACK: Not surprisingly, many leaders, managers and others think the only thing that will make a lasting impression for those who deserve recognition and reward is money. Where, in reality, the motivation brought on by everything from hand shakes ... to "pats on the back," to hearing what a great job someone did in front of the organization can, and often is, the greatest recognition.

MEASURE, MEASURE, MEASURE: So, once again, take the time needed and necessary to make the right choice when the opportunity presents itself to motivate your fellow team members.
