It was a Wasp Head weekend at the World Axe and Knife Throwing Championship in Appleton, WI!

All Wasps were accounted for as Coleman Bates, Joe Devine, and Justin earned their way to the big stage while Dr. Dan Ceballos manned the commentator booth like a true pro (great job, buddy!). By the end of the event, two Wasps walked away with the ability to call themselves World Champions!

Coleman Bates wouldn't be denied and is now your 2024 WKTL World Champion! It's about damn time, buddy! Word has it that he might have had a good chance of taking home the title in WKTL Duals as well, but his partner couldn't keep their damn foot behind the fault line...

Joe Devine, together with some guy who might just have the second most beautiful beard in the league, collected the 2024 WATL Hatchet Duals World Championship in their typical calm and cool fashion. Someone get this man his Champ coin! Congratulations, my friend... Bzzt!!

Justin came up just short of a World Championship, placing among the top 4 hatchet throwers in the world after falling to the now 2-time WATL Hatchet World Champion. Rest assured his head is still held high though! He'll be more prepared for the big stage next time, that's for sure.

It was so amazing and heart warming to see all of the Wasp Head axes and knives flying through the air over the weekend! The amount of Wasp logos on jerseys both blew me away and propped me up when I needed it the most. Thank you all so much for the support!

I managed to sneak out one more axe before this weekend's tournament at The Axe House Cleveland. I love when I've got just enough scraps leftover from a build for a bonus handle! This is the lightest Plumb boy's axe head I've made yet by quite a bit at only 1lb 6.4oz (almost a full pound diet). The total weight came in at 2lbs 0.2oz (turns out Dymondwood is heavy). If you like a light head and a long handle (18"), this one might be for you. If you're at the tournament this weekend, hit me up and you can test it out.

Maker's Monday!

I'll have both of these knife sets on my table at the tournament this weekend at The Axe House Cleveland! The set of WaspHawks have been shortened to 13.5", thinned out (~1lb 1.7oz/ea), and have had the guard shortened to just over 4". The Highlanders were left at stock length, stripped of paint, and thinned out (~1lb 2.7oz). Big thanks to Jessica for the logo and grip engravings!

Maker's Monday Pt. 2!

I just finished up this highly modified unstamped Vintage big axe (formerly a jersey pattern) for a new customer. I gave it a few test tosses yesterday and almost wanted to keep it for myself! The handle scales include both red and black Dymondwood as well as Wenge, Ash, and red veneer. The total weight came out to 3lbs 1.9oz at 23.5" long with a head weight of 2lbs 2.4oz.

Maker's Monday!

I just finished up another one of my signature Plumb Boy Scout Explorers. This one came out beautiful with scales made of Black Limba, Walnut, Ash, Wenge, and red Dymondwood. Throws as good as it looks, too!
