In case you haven’t heard, the Western Cass Fire Protection District has appointed a new Fire Chief. Mr. George Poulignot III came on board Feb. 1. Due to COVID we delayed his swearing in until recently. He has already made effective progress for the District in his first 5 months. Welcome Chief Poulignot!

Notice is hereby given that any qualified person who desires to be a candidate for Director of Western Cass Fire Protection District for a term of six years, may have their name placed upon the ballot by filing their written Declaration of Candidacy in the Cass County Clerk's Office in the Historical Courthouse at 102 E. Wall St. Harrisonville, Missouri. Filing begins December 15, 2020 at 8:00 am. Filings will be accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (except December 24th and 25th, 2020 January 1st, and 18th, 2021). Filings will close at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19th, 2021.
A qualified person is at least twenty-four (24) years of age, a citizen of the United States, a qualified voter who resides in the Western Cass Fire Protection District for which they wish to be a candidate and a resident of the Western Cass Fire Protection District for one year prior to the election.

The District is going through growing pains but one of the best things was the quality training provided on Thursday (and every Thursday) by fire service instructors from fire academies around the region. First up was Belton Fire Dept. Thanks gentlemen for what you did! Firefighters are pumped!
