Cleveland lost a true pioneer is the music industry today. Hank is responsible for so many things that many people don't know about. He helped launch the career of so many musical artists that played on his stage at the CLEVELAND AGORA. He was a great man that helped me personally with the success of
Lava Room Recording once I moved into the building a number of years ago and had the pleasure of chatting with him on hundreds of occasions in his office while he was my landlord. His stories were always so personal and he cared so much about the music industry. My favorite story was about a young man that walked into his country and western bar that he owned in the 50's that had a house band playing. The young man sat at the bar with an acoustic guitar strapped to his back. Hank sat down by him and asked to buy him a drink which he turned down for a glass of water. The kid, as Hank put it, got up on stage and played a song with the band and had a unique voice. He left the bar and a couple of weeks later Hank saw him performing on the Ed Sullivan show and his name was Elvis Presley. Who has stories like that!!! Hank will be missed, be me and many many others. I'm gonna pour myself a small glass of Jameson Irish whiskey and toast that fella. Thanks for everything.

Hank LoConti Sr. died Tuesday, but he leaves behind a treasure trove of memories and a ton of music history and love.
