Deep cleaning and 30 stitch per inch conversion on this Merrow M-3DW serger to do custom patches. At some point in its long life it had water get into the oil it seems 🧐 GOOD AS NEW NOW

From filthy to running like a champ. 🧵🔧

This vintage Yamato serger was needing some serious TLC. Years of lint, thread, grime and buildup had made their way into every nook and cranny
and it was definitely due for some attention.
We gave it a deep cleaning, thorough adjustment, and timing/tension checks to get everything working together properly again.
There’s something satisfying about taking an old industrial machine that’s been neglected and getting it back to making a clean, consistent stitch.
These old Yamatos were built to work, and with the right maintenance, they still have plenty of life left in them. 💪

Clean it. Adjust it. Tune it. Keep it sewing.

Finally back in town from Ohio to helping my parents do some remodeling for the last month.

Already back at it with a nice restoration at the farmers market on First on a carbon steel blade that was her grandfathers.

Some sharpening at my favorite ramen spot Attack of the Tatsu

And of course a few sewing machine repairs!
