Today we remember the battle of San Jacinto. April 21, 1836, in a battle that lasted only 18 minutes, General Sam Houston led his army of 900 men into battle, defeating General Santa Anna and his army of 1200. The San Jacinto Professional Building remembers and honors all those who have sacrificed their lives and given their time to defend the freedoms we have today.
Interesting fact: The San Jacinto Monument was designed by architect Alfred C. Finn in 1939. The San Jacinto Professional Building was originally built in 1914 as the First National Bank. In 1931, the building was remodeled and the architect for the remodel was also Alfred C. Finn.
