✨ Tech Flex Tuesday ✨

My AI workshop is THIS Thursday — and seats are almost gone. 👀

But before you scroll —
let me show you one of the tasks I actually asked my chatbot to do for me.

I told it what I had in my fridge.
What I like to eat.
What was healthy for me to consume —- and a few other things….

And it built a full personalized meal plan.
For ME. Specifically. 💜

It even told me which vitamins
I shouldn’t take together - based on what I have.

That’s not Google.
That’s AI working FOR you.

And it all started with one prompt.
One question.
That’s it.

THIS THURSDAY I’m teaching you
how to do the same —
for your health, your work,
your everyday life.

🎯 PluggedIn w/ MinJae Digital: AI Tools for Everyday Life

✨ Tech Flex Tuesday ✨

Have you ever felt like your vote doesn't really count? Like no matter what happens at the polls, nothing actually changes in your neighborhood? You're not imagining that feeling. And there's actually a name for it.

It's called gerrymandering.

Here's what that means in plain language. Your city and state are divided into districts - basically zones that determine who represents you in government. Gerrymandering is when those district lines get drawn in a way that deliberately weakens certain communities. Your neighborhood gets split up. Your votes get spread thin across different districts. And the people making decisions about your schools, your streets, and your resources keep winning - even when the numbers shouldn't add up in their favor.

That's been happening for a long time. But here's what's new.

Now AI is involved.

Algorithms can generate thousands of possible district maps in minutes. For a large state, we're talking about trillions of possible configurations - and AI can sort through a massive portion of them incredibly fast. Some of those maps are built to be fair. Others are drawn in ways that weaken certain communities' power - and most everyday people have absolutely no idea this is happening.

But here's the part that matters.

That same AI can also be used to fight back. Researchers and advocacy groups are using these exact tools right now to generate neutral maps and prove - with real data - that certain districts were drawn to silence specific communities. That evidence is being taken to courts and commissions across the country.

The technology works both ways. Which means understanding it gives YOUR community power too.

This is why AI literacy isn't just a tech skill anymore. It's a life skill. It's a civic skill. Understanding how these tools work means being able to ask the right questions - who built this, what data did they use, who benefits, and who gets hurt.

You don't need a tech background. You don't need to be into politics. You just need to be curious about what's happening in your world and willing to learn. 💜

That's exactly what we're doing at the end of this month.

✨ Tech Flex Tuesday ✨

In a perfect world, we'd like to believe that the people we love are truly safe to be with. And in most cases - that's absolutely true. But the reality is that some of our loved ones don't come home from vacations. And nobody talks about that enough.

So this week's Tech Flex isn't about fear. It's about love. It's about making sure that no matter who you're traveling with: a partner, a friend, a group - you have a plan that keeps YOU safe. No judgment. Just real information for real people. 💜

Here's what to do before you go anywhere.

-- Tell someone everything before you leave: Not just "I'm going on a trip." Give a trusted person your hotel name, flight number, destination address, and the name of whoever you're traveling with. If something goes wrong, that information matters more than you know.

-- Download these apps before you go:
1. Life360 lets you share your real time location with people you trust back home.
2. Google Maps offline works without wifi or data - download your destination before you leave.
3. TripWhistle gives you local emergency numbers for any country in the world.

These are all free. There's no excuse not to have them.

-- Lock your devices before you cross any border: You have the right to protect what's on your phone. Enable full device encryption, use a strong passcode, and back everything up to the cloud before you travel.

-- Set up a daily check-in with someone at home: A simple "I'm good" text at the same time every day. If it doesn't come, your person knows to start asking questions. Simple. Effective. Non-negotiable.

-- And most importantly - trust your gut: No trip. No situation. No person is worth ignoring that feeling when something doesn't seem right. Your instincts exist for a reason. Please honor them.

You deserve to go. You deserve to explore. And you deserve to come home safe every single time. 💜

Save this and send it to your group chat right now. It might be the most important thing you share this week.

Let me ask you something. Do you know who’s actually behind the AI tool you’ve been using? Because I think once you know, you’ll look at it a little differently.

ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool in the world right now. But here’s what recently made headlines - OpenAI, the company that makes it, just struck a deal with the federal government to give every single agency access to their platform. The price? One dollar. Not per person. One dollar total for the entire federal government.

Every department. Every agency. Essentially free.

Now you might be wondering … 💭 why would a company just hand over access like that?

That’s a great question. And it’s exactly the kind of question digital literacy teaches you to ask.

Here’s the other side of the story.

The tool I personally use - and the one I teach with - is Claude, made by a company called Anthropic. When Anthropic sat down to negotiate with the government, they refused to compromise on their safety standards.

The negotiations broke down. They walked away from the deal rather than lower the bar on how their technology gets used.

One company opened the door wide open. The other one held the line.

I’m not here to tell you what to think. But I AM here to make sure you have the full picture - because you deserve to make informed decisions about the tools you trust with your words, your ideas, and your business.

That’s what digital literacy looks like in real life. And that’s why we show up every Tuesday. 💜

Save this and share it with someone who needs to hear it.

✨ Tech Flex Tuesday ✨

One day you were minding your business. Now you're scrolling and everything is AI - your feed, the news, videos of people saying things they never said, pictures that look real but aren't. And you're sitting there thinking… what is even happening right now?

You're not alone. And your confusion is valid. Let's break it down.

So what IS AI, really?

Artificial intelligence is technology that learns patterns and generates content - text, images, video, audio, etc…..based on what it's been trained on. It's been around for years, but it got really powerful really fast. And now it's everywhere.

So, how do you spot a fake photo or video?
+ Look closely at the details AI still gets wrong - hands with too many fingers, hair with blurry or melted edges, teeth that look slightly off, backgrounds that seem too smooth or perfect. With video, watch for unnatural blinking, weird lighting on the face, or lip movements that don't quite match the audio. When something feels off, trust that feeling.

What about fake voices?
+ Voice cloning is real. If you get a call from someone you know and something feels strange - even if it sounds like them… hang up and call them back on a number you already have saved!!! Scammers are using this to impersonate family members. Let the people you love know about this so they can protect themselves.

Is someone using my image without my knowledge?
+ It's possible. You can search your own photos using Google Images (click the camera icon and upload a photo) or TinEye.com to see where your images appear online. Make it a habit to check. And consider watermarking photos you share publicly.

What's the best thing you can do right now?
+ Pause before you share. Verify before you believe. Talk to the people in your community - especially elders and young people who may not know what to look for.

‼️Digital literacy is community protection. The more we know, the harder we are to fool.

‼️ Technology is a tool. And like any tool, it works better when people understand it - and understand how to protect themselves from it.

Save this post. Share it with someone who needs it. That's how we look out for each other.

It’s Tech Flex Tuesday 💻✨

Good tech habits are like good bread…you gotta work the ingredients in slowly, with intention. 🍞

This week’s tip: Start with clarity before you click. Before you open a new tool, app, or tab & ask yourself what do you actually need it to do with it?! That one habit alone will save you hours of frustration.

That’s the MinJae Method in action: Clarity. Creativity. Confidence.

And speaking of the MinJae Method ……if you’ve got a parent, grandparent, auntie, uncle, etc., who loves to read but gets frustrated every time technology doesn’t cooperate, do them a solid. 📖 Grab them a copy of The MinJae Method Vol. 1: digital mindfulness ..made simple. Link In Comments!!
