🔥 Be honest… do you put aluminum foil on the bottom of your oven?

A) Always
B) Never
C) Wait… we’re not supposed to? 😳

A lot of people do it for one simple reason — nobody wants to scrub burned food and grease off the bottom of an oven. 😂

But here’s the problem: putting aluminum foil directly on the bottom of some ovens can actually cause issues.

Depending on the oven, foil can interfere with airflow and heat distribution, and in some models it can even damage the oven’s interior surface.

That doesn’t mean aluminum foil can never be used in an oven. The important part is WHERE and HOW you use it.

Your oven’s manual will tell you what the manufacturer allows for your specific model.

Sometimes the little things we’ve been doing for years without thinking about them are worth checking. 🔧

👇 Now we’re curious:

Do you use foil in your oven?

A) Always
B) Never
C) I’m going to check my oven right now 😂

👀 Have you ever wondered what your dryer actually looks like inside?

Probably not… until something stops working. 😂

From the outside, a dryer seems pretty simple — a drum, a few buttons, and some hot air.

But take the cover off, and there’s a lot more going on.

Motor, blower, heating system, belt, rollers, sensors, wiring and airflow — everything has to work together every time you press START.

And here’s something important:

“Not heating” doesn’t always mean the heating element.

“Not spinning” doesn’t always mean the belt.

“Making noise” doesn’t always mean the motor.

The symptom tells us where to start. The diagnosis tells us what actually needs to be repaired. 🔧

These are real photos from one of our service calls.

👇 Have you ever seen the inside of a dryer before?

YES / First time seeing it 😳

🍽️ Dishwasher says: DONE.

You open the door…

Clean dishes.
Wet dishes.
And somehow that plastic container is holding enough water to fill a swimming pool. 😂

Sound familiar?

A little water on certain items — especially plastic — can be completely normal. But if your dishwasher used to dry dishes well and suddenly everything is coming out soaking wet, something may have changed.

Before assuming something is broken, check the simple things first: rinse aid, the cycle you’re using, and how the dishwasher is loaded.

But if the problem started suddenly or keeps getting worse, it may be worth having the dishwasher checked.

One thing we’ve learned from service calls: pay attention when an appliance suddenly starts doing something differently than it used to.

👇 What annoys you more?

A) Wet dishes 💦
B) Dirty dishes 🍝
C) Having to unload the dishwasher at all 😂

🧺 Be honest… after your washer finishes, do you leave the door OPEN or CLOSED?

It seems like such a small thing, but it can actually make a difference — especially with front-load washers.

After a wash cycle, moisture can stay inside the drum, around the rubber gasket, and in the detergent dispenser. If the door is closed immediately, that moisture has a harder time drying out.

And over time… you may start noticing that familiar “washer smell.” 😅

Leaving the door slightly open after laundry can help air circulate and allow the inside to dry.

A couple of simple habits can help:
• Leave the washer door slightly open after the last load.
• Leave the detergent drawer open a little too.
• Wipe excess water from the rubber gasket when needed.

Of course, if you have small children or pets, always make safety the priority and follow your washer manufacturer’s recommendations.

Now we’re curious… 👇

🍲 Hot food + refrigerator… what do YOU do?

Dinner is over, but the leftovers are still warm.

A) Straight into the refrigerator
B) Wait until they cool completely
C) Leave them on the counter and remember 3 hours later 😂

There’s a common belief that putting warm food in the refrigerator can damage it.

The reality is a little more complicated.

A large pot of very hot food can temporarily raise the temperature inside your refrigerator and make it work harder to bring everything back down. But leaving perishable food sitting at room temperature for hours isn’t a good solution either.

A better approach? Divide large amounts of food into smaller, shallow containers so they cool faster and refrigerate them promptly rather than waiting for everything to reach room temperature.

And if you’re putting something warm inside, avoid placing a huge steaming pot directly next to milk, meat, or other temperature-sensitive foods.

So no — one container of warm leftovers probably isn’t going to “kill” your refrigerator. 😅

But that giant steaming pot of soup?

Maybe give your fridge a little help. 😂

🧊 When was the last time you looked BEHIND your refrigerator?

Last month?
Last year?

How about… 20 YEARS? 😳

That’s what we heard on a recent service call.

The customer mentioned an unusual noise coming from the back of the refrigerator. The noise wasn’t happening when our technician arrived, but once we looked behind and underneath the refrigerator, we found something that definitely deserved attention.

A LOT of dust.

The customer told us this area hadn’t been cleaned in about 20 years.

And honestly, it’s easy to forget about. We clean the kitchen, wipe down the refrigerator, clean the shelves inside… but how often does anyone actually think about what’s happening underneath or behind it?

Dust and debris can build up around the condenser area over time, reducing airflow and making the refrigerator work harder to release heat.

The good news? You don’t need to wait 20 years. 😅

Every once in a while, take a look behind and underneath your refrigerator. If accessible and safe according to your refrigerator’s instructions, keeping the condenser area clean is a simple piece of maintenance that can help your refrigerator do its job properly.

Now the real question…

👇 How long has it been since YOU looked behind your refrigerator?

And “never” is an acceptable answer. We won’t judge. 😂

⚡ “The breaker keeps tripping every time we use it.”

That was the complaint our technician got on this service call.

At first, everything can seem pretty simple: reset the breaker and try again.

But a breaker usually trips for a reason.

After opening the appliance and diagnosing the problem, our technician found an electrical short inside. That explained why the breaker was doing exactly what it was supposed to do — cutting the power.

And this is one situation where repeatedly resetting the breaker and hoping it works next time is NOT a good idea.

If an appliance suddenly starts tripping the breaker, especially every time you turn it on, stop using it until the cause is identified.

Sometimes the breaker isn’t the problem.

It’s the warning. ⚡

Real service call. Real problem. Another mystery solved. 🔧

🍕 Your oven says 350°F… but is it really 350°F?

The recipe says 30 minutes. You’ve made it plenty of times before.

30 minutes later… the middle is still raw. 😐

So you give it another 10 minutes. Or maybe you start blaming the recipe.

But sometimes the recipe isn’t the problem.

An oven can turn on, heat up, beep that it’s ready — and still not maintain the temperature you expect. A temperature sensor, heating component, control issue, or another problem can affect how accurately it heats.

And it can happen gradually. You might first notice that dinner takes a little longer, cookies suddenly burn around the edges, or your usual recipes just don’t come out the same anymore.

So if you find yourself constantly adding 10–15 minutes to cooking time, don’t automatically blame your cooking skills. 😅 Your oven might be trying to tell you something.

👇 Have you ever made the SAME recipe and suddenly had it come out completely different?

A) Undercooked 😐
B) Burned 🔥
C) Somehow BOTH 😂

🧺 Your washer: “5 minutes remaining.”

You: Great. I’ll wait.

10 minutes later… 5 minutes remaining.
Another 10 minutes… still 5. 😐

At this point, those aren’t minutes anymore. They’re suggestions. 😂

If you own a modern washing machine, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced this. The time on the display is often an estimate, and your washer may adjust the cycle while it works — especially when balancing the load, draining, or completing the spin cycle.

Seeing the timer change occasionally doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong. But if those last 5 minutes regularly turn into another 20–30 minutes, the washer keeps trying to spin, clothes come out soaking wet, or the cycle refuses to finish — it’s worth paying attention.

Sometimes the first sign of a washer problem isn’t an error code. It’s you standing in the laundry room thinking:

“HOW is it still on 5 minutes?!” 😂

👇 What’s the longest your washer has ever been stuck on “1 minute” or “5 minutes”?

🍽️ You waited two hours for the dishwasher to finish…

You open the door.

Pull out a plate.

And… it’s STILL dirty. 😑

So what do most of us do?

Close the door and run it again. 😂

Once? Maybe it was just an overloaded dishwasher.

But if you’re regularly running two cycles just to get clean dishes, something isn’t right.

And surprisingly, detergent isn’t always the problem.

Poor water circulation, clogged or blocked spray arms, water temperature issues, filtration problems, or a component that isn’t working properly can all affect how well your dishwasher cleans.

The frustrating part?

The dishwasher may still sound completely normal. It fills with water. It runs. It drains. The cycle finishes.

But the dishes tell a different story. 👀

So if you’ve started thinking, “Maybe I just need a stronger detergent…” — pay attention to whether the problem keeps happening.

Your dishwasher should wash the dishes.

You shouldn’t have to wash them again after your dishwasher does. 😅

Now be honest 👇

What do YOU do when the dishwasher finishes and the dishes are still dirty?

A) Run it again 🔄
B) Wash them by hand 😭
C) Start looking at new dishwashers 😂
