How it started -> how its going
Around Thanksgiving 2017, the seed of the idea for Doozy Pots was planted. 💡🌱🍨
The idea was built around making a delicious plant-based ice cream with h**p. h**p has so much potential as an earth friendly crop, with such a wide variety of end uses, including as a nutritious food but has been neglected for decades. Kirsten spent over a year in our apartment kitchen creating, testing, tasting and searching the world over for the right ingredients. Turns out, the h**p food industry barely existed. It's still a fledgling industry with SO much more room to grow.
Over the last 5 years, we have spent thousands of hours to build a business that has grown from hand labeled pints in 1 local store (hi - we love you!) in 2019 to 400+ stores like across 25 states. We are still just a full time team of 2 (Kirsten & Karl) with some help from super scooper Steve.
Over time, our vision has grown, goals have shifted and we've made huge strides, but there is still so much more to be done. Entrepreneurship is HARD. Somedays it feels like it can't get any harder. Especially in the last few years, which have been filled with economic uncertainty, supply chain woes and changing world dynamics. Other days are filled with so much joy; from you! From our customers and our retailers who believe in the dream as much as we do and see a future where organic, regenerative & plant-based products that support fair trade are the norm. There is no greater joy than connecting with our customers, sharing scoops and bringing smiles to your faces. Ice cream is JOY. 😊
