As we continue our fall SNRG series, it’s time to celebrate the person who started it all! 🎉💗

Meet our founder, Jennifer Harvey!

Jennifer’s connection to this work began long before her career did. Growing up, she watched her grandmother live with Alzheimer’s disease and saw the gentle, patient care her mother gave her. Those experiences helped shape her passion for supporting older adults and their families. 💜

Today, Jennifer is the owner of Touching Hearts at Home of the Capital District. She loves helping seniors and their families find ways to age at home with as much independence as possible. She also believes in building community and connections that make life’s challenging seasons a little easier.

That belief led Jennifer to found SNRG in 2020, bringing local professionals together at a time when connection was especially needed. The community she started continues to help us share resources, learn from one another and better support the people we serve.

So what makes Jenn happy outside of a great SNRG gathering? Time with her children and weekend getaways with her girlfriends! And at work, few things mean more to her than hearing that someone on her team made a positive difference in a client’s life. 💗

Jennifer’s superpower is bringing people together with purpose. Thank you, Jenn, for creating SNRG and for reminding us how much good can come from caring for one another.

As we kick off our fall SNRG series - it’s time to celebrate those who make it all happen! 🎉 🏆

From the big ideas to behind-the-scenes details, the SNRG Committee members are the ones who make the events you look forward to come together. They bring creativity, immense talent and elite professional insight to ensure programming is well thought out, promoted and enjoyed! Every few weeks, we will be highlighting a different committee member. We hope this series connects you more to the committee members and SNRG! 💗

Kym Hance has spent more than 35 years helping older adults and their families navigate the twists, turns, and occasional plot twists of aging. As Director of Care Management Services at Herzog Law Firm, she brings together her expertise in care management, dementia care, senior living and long-term care planning to help families move from overwhelmed to empowered.

Away from work, Kym is an original flower child who feels most at home with her feet firmly planted on the earth and her face turned toward the sky. 🏞️🌲 Nature is where she goes to unwind, quiet the noise of everyday life, and remember what really matters.

Although deeply rooted to the earth, Kym considers water play an essential form of recharging—whether she is sitting beside it, floating in it, or embarking on a long kayak trip while waiting to hear the haunting call of the loons. Add a star-filled sky and a chance to marvel at the wonders of the natural world and her spirit is fully restored.

Kym believes life is best lived with curiosity, compassion, a thoughtful plan and plenty of time beneath the trees, on the water, and under the stars. Her cape is optional—but her kayak is not! 🌊

Kym’s professional superpower is connecting the dots (boy, is it!)—often before a crisis occurs. She has a knack for cutting through the confusion, finding the right resources and turning complicated care challenges into practical plans.

To top it all off - Kym is A Certified Care Manager, Certified Dementia Practitioner and an Advanced Professional Member of the Aging Life Care Association. Kym also serves as Vice President of the NY Aging Life Care Association Board of Directors and National Co-Chair of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Legal Industry Leadership Council.

Getting excited for what’s ahead!

A few members of the SNRG Committee got together this afternoon for a productive planning session focused on the future of our group. We spent time aligning on expectations, participation, and how we can continue building a strong, sustainable organization that serves our members well.

We’re dreaming big and working intentionally to create events, connections, and opportunities that truly reflect our four pillars and bring even more value to everyone involved.

👀 Keep your eyes peeled… we’ve got some exciting things in the works! From educational opportunities and meaningful networking to community engagement and professional growth, we can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
