Governor Cuomo Announces that COVID-19 Restrictions Lifted-What This Means for Your Organization:

As of June 15, 2021, NYS COVID-19 Restrictions and New York Forward Industry Guidance has been lifted across commercial settings, including retail, food services, offices, gyms and fitness centers, amusement and family entertainment, hair salons, barber shops, and personal care services, etc.

Large-scale indoor events venues (over 5,000), Pre-K to 12 schools, public transit, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes and health care settings must still adhere to all existing COVID-19 health protocols per CDC guidelines.

Unvaccinated individuals are still responsible for continuing to wear a mask, per federal CDC guidance.

What does this mean for your organization?

If your organization falls into one of the approved commercial settings above (retail, food services, office..etc.), all COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted (and are now optional) including:

NYS health guidance and New York Forward Industry Specific Guidance (Model Plans)
Social gathering limits
Capacity restrictions

If your organization falls into the category of large-scale indoor events venues (over 5,000), Pre-K to 12 schools, public transit, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes and health care settings, you must still adhere to all existing COVID-19 health protocols per CDC guidelines including social gathering limits, capacity restrictions, social distancing, cleaning and disinfecting, health screening, and contact information for training, as well as adhering to your organization’s re-opening safety plans and guidance.

While the restrictions have been lifted, you may choose to continue to adhere to the guidelines or implement other health precautions for employees or patrons.
