Winterstorm "Fern" Jan. 24th to Jan. 27th.
I haven't had any time to post the wildest and craziest moments of this storm, and I know other states had it much worse than we did. I am very thankful we kept electricity and water supply through the whole time although it was very tough to water 9 horses with buckes in different areas. The ground has turned into solid ice everywhere you stepped, and I was glad I had ordered some spikes which go under my boots in 2023. The arrived late and I didn't need them then but I sure needed them now.
After terrible cold temperatures and ice rain and sleet, not so much snow, and checking on the horses 4 times day and night I took a little walk this morning to see what's going on around the property and took a few snapshots. It has been thawing all day now and it left a soggy soil around the house, but we can say goodbye to "Fern" for good.
