After more than 30 years working around communications, networks, audio, video, wireless systems, and critical infrastructure, one lesson continues to prove itself:

Everything matters.

The cable pathway matters.
The connector matters.
The labeling matters.
The grounding matters.
The configuration matters.
The documentation matters.
The person performing the installation matters.

And when you’re working inside an airport, manufacturing facility, municipality, school, utility, or enterprise environment, the little things eventually become the big things.

A communication system that works 99% of the time sounds pretty good—until the 1% happens during an emergency.
