The FMCSA Safety Measurement System (SMS) hasn't updated for May 2025 yet because the agency is still in the process of implementing significant changes to the system's methodology.
Here's why this is causing a delay:

Updating Methodology: The FMCSA is currently incorporating approved changes to the way SMS calculates and presents safety performance data for carriers.

System Redesign: The agency is also working on a redesign of the SMS system to display the results of this new methodology.

No Release Date Yet: The launch of the new system, which will incorporate these changes, is in the third phase of the update process, and the FMCSA has not yet announced a specific date for its implementation.
Notice in Federal Register: The FMCSA states that a notice will be published in the Federal Register with sufficient lead time before the changes take effect.
Important Points:

Current SMS Still Used: Until the updated system is in place, carriers should continue to utilize the current SMS website to monitor their safety performance.
Retroactive Changes: Once the new system is live, it will recalculate data based on a two-year history from that date.
