We’re proud to announce that the Teviston Community Services Districty Water System Improvement Project has received two ASCE Fresno Branch honors: Outstanding Sustainable Engineering Project and Outstanding Water Project!

The project transformed a vulnerable, single-source groundwater system into a more reliable and resilient system. These improvements strengthened water reliability, system redundancy, fire protection, emergency preparedness, and long-term drought resilience for approximately 136 service connections. The project also created a foundation for future water-quality treatment and continued local operation.

The project was made possible through close coordination among Teviston Community Services District, the State-Appointed District Administrator, the California Water Boards, the California Department of Water Resources, W. M. Lyles Co, and other project partners. Thank you all!

What a weekend at the 2026 APA Central Section Sierra Retreat!

The annual Planning Retreat brought planners, friends, and families together for three days of learning, networking, and plenty of fun in a relaxed mountain setting. From insightful conversations, including the “AI Data Centers in the Central Valley” program, to time spent connecting outside the usual workday, it was a great opportunity to strengthen relationships within the community.

P&P was proud to this year’s retreat and help support the professional development and opportunities it provides, especially for Young and Emerging .

Thank you to CenCal APA, the speakers, fellow sponsors, and everyone who helped make the weekend such a memorable one. We’re already looking forward to next year’s retreat!

We’re proud to announce that the Derrick & Oller Roundabout Project has been named the ASCE Fresno Branch Outstanding Transportation Project for 2026!

Located at the junction of State Routes 33 and 180, the project transformed one of the City of Mendota ’s most hazardous and complex intersections into a safer, more efficient transportation facility. The new 140-foot roundabout improves traffic flow and includes accessible pedestrian crossings, a 10-foot shared-use path, and specialized design features that accommodate agricultural freight and emergency vehicles.

This project was completed through close coordination with the City of Mendota, Caltrans Central Valley District 6 , Agee Construction, and community stakeholders. By delivering the project locally under Caltrans oversight, the City was able to avoid years of potential delay while making the best use of limited resources.

We look forward to celebrating this achievement and recognizing the entire project team at the ASCE Awards Banquet this Thursday!

Just a P&P biologist completing surveys in the desert and enjoying the opportunity to meet the locals!

Our fieldwork can bring us face-to-face with some fascinating wildlife, including this well-camouflaged horned lizard. These encounters are an important part of the job, helping our biologists gather information clients need to make informed project decisions and navigate environmental regulations.

Whatever might be hiding in plain sight, our biology team is ready to help!

We were so excited to celebrate and be a part of Sawtooth Regional Landfill’s ribbon cutting ceremony last month. Thank you Elmore County and Republic Services for trusting us!

Mitra Mehta-Cooper played a key leadership role throughout the project, first serving as Elmore County's Land Use and Building Department Director and later as a consultant with our team. Her collaborative style and coordinated regulatory approach helped overcome two-decade long and use violations at Idaho’s only privately owned municipal landfill.

Congratulations to everyone whose hard work and collaboration made this achievement possible. We're honored to have played a role in transforming a longstanding community challenge into a lasting success for Elmore County and Southwest Idaho!

We’re proud to congratulate Eric Lawrence on earning his California Professional Engineer license!

This achievement marks Eric’s sixth PE license, adding California to an already impressive list of licenses held in Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado.

Obtaining a California PE license is widely recognized as one of the most challenging engineering licensure achievements, making it a fitting crowning accomplishment in Eric’s distinguished professional journey.

Congratulations, Eric, on your continued success!
