This picture is forever engrained in our memories. It captures the American heart, resolve and courage in one moment. 25 years ago, America changed, the fire service changed, in a moment that will never be forgotten.

Today, we pause to remember the thousands of lives lost, including 343 firefighters, who woke up to a normal day that changed the course of many lives forever.

Most of today’s firefighters were kids or not even born yet, but everyone of them knows the story, the sacrifice, and inherited something from those that answered the call that morning.

We don’t honor them just by having a ceremony and lowering our flags. We honor them by how we live, train, prepare and serve our community.

Keep an eye out for our new ISO Class 2 decals on our apparatus!

Coalinga Fire Department is proud to display our new ISO Class 2 decals on our apparatus recognition of our recently earned Class 2 Public Protection Classification (PPC), effective November 1st 2026. This is an upgrade from our previous class 3 rating and places Coalinga among fewer than 5% of fire departments nationwide achieving a Class 1 or 2 rating.

We are proud to serve the Coalinga Community and to have this accomplishment represented on our apparatus.
