Just wanted to give everyone a quick update!

After giving it a lot of thought, we’ve decided to stay at our current location:

📍 325 Front St. E, Coeburn, VA

We had talked about possibly moving, but for now we’ll continue serving everyone from the same location.

I also wanted to address something that’s become a growing issue. I’ve been having a very difficult time getting completed taxidermy work picked up. I completely understand that times can be tough, and I’m not calling out any one person—this has been an ongoing issue for quite a while.

Like many of you, I have bills to pay and a family to support. When completed mounts sit for long periods of time, it creates financial strain and takes up valuable space in the shop.

Because of this, we’re making a change to our payment policy.

Beginning immediately, when your mount is next in line to be started, I will contact you and request the remaining balance. Once the balance is paid, your mount will move into production. If the balance is not paid, I will move on to the next customer whose work is paid and ready to begin.

I appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support. Thank you for trusting Baker’s Taxidermy & Processing with your trophies. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I’ve been throwing around the idea of moving Baker’s Taxidermy & Processing to a new shop at my house, and I’d really like to hear everyone’s thoughts.

The current location is convenient, but it limits what I’m able to do. I’ve already applied for my license to slaughter beef, and being in town makes that difficult since I can’t realistically process livestock here.

If I made the move, I’d be able to build the shop the way I’ve always wanted, including a walk-in cooler, more processing space, and hopefully expand into products like deer jerky and summer sausage (pending approvals).

My question is this: Would you be willing to drive an extra 10 minutes outside of town to have your deer processed?

Your opinions mean a lot to me because you’re the reason Baker’s Taxidermy & Processing has continued to grow. I’d really appreciate your honest feedback in the comments. Thanks, everyone!
