EXTREME FIRE DANGER
RED FLAG WARNING

A strong cold front will sweep across the Inland Northwest this Saturday. Very warm and dry conditions paired with gusty winds will contribute to rapid fire spread for any new or ongoing fires.

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM to 11 PM PDT Saturday.

Please avoid any activities that may produce sparks or fire and report any smoke or fire activity immediately.

We have already seen a few local fires in the last few days, and fortunately local crews were able to respond quickly to contain and control these fires. With the forecast winds, fires like these would likely grow and spread too quickly to contain. So please use extreme caution.

Happy EMS week!

🚑 National EMS Week 2026 is HERE! 🚑
May 17–23 | “Improving Outcomes, Together.”

This week, we celebrate the incredible EMTs, paramedics, and EMS professionals who show up every single day, ready to respond, ready to care, and ready to save lives.

This year’s theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” says it all. Our EMS heroes don’t work alone; they partner with hospitals, fire services, law enforcement, public health, and their communities to ensure every patient receives the best possible care from the moment the call comes in.

To every EMS professional in our community: THANK YOU. Your skill, compassion, and dedication make a difference that can never be fully measured. We are so proud of you. 💙
