What's an ONT?
If you have fiber internet, you may have one and not even know it.
An Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is the equipment that converts the signal traveling over the fiber into a connection your home or business network can use.
Basically, it's one of the pieces that helps get your fiber connection from the network to your devices. There's a lot more happening behind that little box than you might think.

The internet doesn't just come out of the wall. There's a whole lot of infrastructure behind that connection—fiber, towers, equipment, miles of cable, network facilities, and the people who build and maintain it.

Our crews are out there year-round working on the network that keeps our customers connected. We don't always get to see the finished product from the customer's side, but it's pretty cool to see where it starts.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which makes it a good time for a quick reminder:

A strong password is important, but it's only one piece of the puzzle. Businesses should also be thinking about things like multi-factor authentication, software updates, backups, employee access, and what happens if an account is compromised. Good cybersecurity isn't about being scared of every email you receive. It's about having a few good habits and the right protections in place.
