As we push through the end stages of Covid safety restrictions the natural reaction is to fire on all cylinders to return to normal.
Normal is not yet attainable as we are reopening into an unprecedented labor crisis.
What we know is that creating certainty with what we can control in times of uncertainty leads to stress reduction, renewed confidence, strategic thinking and a positive belief that things are going to be OK. We can only do what we can do with the people and resources we have to deliver experiences that meet our standards. Anything beyond this creates unnecessary organizational stress and erodes culture, confidence and quality.
We are in this business to grow an enduring great company that lives its values and retains its staff and guests by providing the most stable employment experiences and amazing guest experiences that we can.
A modified and tighter summer operating schedule is a mature and strategic decision to protect our team, minimize stress, improve efficiency. We can regroup in the fall and once again dream bigger for our future. This is a decision of strength not weakness.
In the interest of protecting our most valuable resource, our staff, Hen of the Wood - Burlington will soon be operating on a 5 day schedule. Please keep an eye on hours as you're heading out to visit us!
