"Some people make a difference by leading from the front. Others make a difference by quietly dedicating their lives to serving their community, preserving its history, and standing up for the people who call it home. Alex McGregor has done all three."

Our very own Jamie Slocum (Seed Treatment Account Manager). Very well deserved and big congrats!!

This year, our coach, Jamie Slocum, was named Coach of the Year and there truly isn’t anyone more deserving.
Jamie isn’t just our coach, she’s someone who has lived this program. As a former Vandal and past rodeo team member, she understands what this team means on a deeper level. She once stood where we stand now, and that perspective shows in everything she does.
During her senior year, Jamie had a vision of hosting a rodeo under the University of Idaho. She made that happen in Colfax, Washington through her involvement with the Palouse Empire Fair. Years later, after returning to the program as our coach, she brought that vision back to life. In 2024, we hosted a rodeo in Colfax once again, and this year, she helped open the door for us to host at the Lewiston Round Up arena, something that felt out of reach not long ago.
But what makes Jamie special isn’t just what she’s accomplished, it’s how much she gives. She shows up for this team in ways that go far beyond coaching. She invests her time, her energy, and her belief in us, on top of being there for her family and job working for Mcgregor.
Jamie has played a huge role in rebuilding this program and pushing it forward. The opportunities we have today are, in so many ways, thanks to her.
