Last week I celebrated 5 Years of Full Time Entrepreneurship. At this point this is not a drill. This is one of the photos I took to capture this moment in time. Shoutout to Rashod Harris - The Kingmaker👑 !

On October 1, 2021 I started my journey of officially working for myself. Every year around this time I reflect on this journey.

If I had to have a chit chat with Christina from 2021 or anyone who is making the plunge of faith into Full Time Entrepreneurship here are a few things I would say:

💎The lows will be low but the highs will be even higher.

💎Not every client is intended for you. Find your target clientele and stay there.

💎 Hire people who are smarter than you in certain areas and take the time to develop them.

💎 There is no reward for the most overworked entrepreneur. This leads to stress and you can’t run a business if you are always stressed. Rest.

💎 Sometimes people will screw you over in business and this is why written agreements matter. It makes you stronger and makes you wiser. Keep pushing.

💎 Payroll will be one of the most stressful yet rewarding parts of the process. Every month where payroll is made is a blessing.

💎 Be as lean as you possibly can. Running a business is expensive.

💎 You are smart. You are capable. And you will fall down a few times but remember you will get back up.

Cheers to 10 years in business and 5 years of minding only the business that pays me. No matter how challenging being a full time entrepreneur gets I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“Strong Enough to Bear The Children and Get Back to Business” Beyoncé

Today is my first day back from maternity leave. Transparently, I have been emotional about this since last week. But after prayer and a few pep talks I am ready to put my CEO hat back on.

One thing that transcends all industries is the feelings that working mothers have when it is time to return to work after having a baby. Simply put it is not easy. I encourage you to be kind to mama’s when they return. I started my maternity leave mid July and had Nova on August 1st. The last seven weeks I have been in the newborn trenches and navigating all things postpartum. Even though it has been a lot of work I have loved every minute of it.

However, as an entrepreneur the work does not stop. I am grateful to Team CKC for keeping the show going in my absence. They exceeded every expectation I had!

Time to return but this time with the Baby CEO in my lap 🩷 the is already asleep on the job !!

P.S. I decided to decorate my office thank you Stephanie Ford + Trenisha A. Goslee for encouraging me to romanticize this day and support my extraness!

Heaven Sent Baby Shower ☁️✨

We are incredibly grateful to our family and friends who showed up for us both near and far to celebrate our Heaven Sent Baby Girl. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Ten years ago, I started Christina Kanu Consulting. A year later, I became a mother.

Now, nearly a decade later, I am preparing to welcome our daughter.

In between those two moments, I became a wife, a mother to Jayce, a bonus mom to two beautiful daughters, and a woman who has learned to trust God through every season.

One of the greatest blessings of this chapter has been creating a maternity leave plan that works for my family, my team, and myself.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about that journey and the roadmap I wish I had when I first became a mother and entrepreneur.

And that’s a wrap on THIRD Grade!

Third grade was a year ! We are exceptionally proud of our Jayce for being the scholar athlete that he is. He is a leader and no matter the obstacles of this year he excelled!

Jayce received an Academic Achievement Award and the “Multiplication Master” Award!

Thank you to everyone who supported Jayce the entire school year. Now is time for a MUCH needed Summer Break 🥰🙌🏾☀️

We are so proud of and the entire team. Thank you to the family for welcoming Jayce this year and helping him grow as he continues to develop as a player !

Jayce received CO MVP in the BEA tournament with 4 TDs + 1 interception today.

Kicking Off Q2 with some reintroductions of Team CKC.

What a blessing it is to work with some of the most brilliant minds. There is a saying in business to hire people who know more than you. I don’t know everything and that is ok. But I am smart enough to know the best business investment you can make is getting a team.

Our theme for 2026 has been “Cruise Control”. What does it mean to elevate to greater heights and to ensure that every person on your team knows how to play their role effectively? If you know me you know I LOVE themes so this has been very exciting to explore.

Thank you to the greatest team to ever do it. Thank you to everyone who shows a tremendous amount of love for the women who make up Christina Kanu Consulting! My favorite thing besides working with them every day is seeing how they continue to grow professionally and personally. When I think about legacy that is what legacy means to me 💙
