On July 25, MBOC participated in the Maryland Department of Labor's National Hire a Veteran Day Job Fair, held at Maryland Live! Casino and Hotel. This event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with veterans who were considering self-employment. With 72 vendors on site, the job fair provided a wealth of resources for veterans transitioning to civilian careers. In addition to networking opportunities, attendees had access to a "resume doctor" who offered personalized advice on crafting impactful resumes. MBOC was proud to offer our services and support to veterans, helping them explore the possibilities of entrepreneurship as they embark on new career paths.

Last month, MBOC staff had the amazing opportunity to attend Howard University’s Black Commerce, the Future of Entrepreneurship Conference! This experience united entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, HBCU students, leaders and scholars to foster collaboration, share best business practices and build support for one another. Our staff was able to learn skills through intriguing workshops, gain resources, and get small business owners connected to our resources to help them grow and sustain in our communities!

Thank you to Howard University for hosting this amazing event and allowing our team to attend!

On May 14th, MBOC hosted a Speed Lending Event in Towson, Maryland at their StarTUp in the Armory.
