Carson has melded her skills to form Smart Leadership Coaching. This endeavor focuses on assisting scientists and other technical professionals in their journeys of "finding their way up" either as a result of downsizing or just the desire to move up. Her academic training, business experience, coaching training, and her specialization in using StrengthsFinder as a tool is guaranteed to assist you

in moving forward. She received her undergraduate degree from NYU and then went on to complete her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Hahnemann Medical College. A specialist in clinical chemistry and toxicology, at one point Susan was known as the "Poison Lady" by the local police force because of her work in forensic toxicology. Susan has more than 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields in both business and academia. As a teacher at Michigan State University, she developed curriculum and lectured at both the graduate and undergraduate levels to students in Medicine and Medical Technology. She has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having worked in business development, product marketing, clinical research, and medical affairs. Susan has also served as a consultant to pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies. Susan's positive experience working in executive recruitment and career development led her to establish Strategic Placements. Her well-rounded experience in pharmaceuticals and biotech has provided Susan with an intimate knowledge of the jobs and skills required - as well as a broad network of contacts throughout the industry. Great new way to describe what I do:

Close your eyes: imagine a challenge you are dealing with - could be in business or in your family. It really does not matter!

How do you feel? how is your thinking? are you positive or negative? Do you feel stuck?

Now still with your eyes closed - imagine you have overcome this challenge. How do you look? How do you feel? Are you happy? Do you feel taller? What is going on?

I hate gray. I hate the gray areas of my life. Thiss week I was called to make a dercision regqrding a purchase for my snomaggedon destroyed kitchen. So I focused on pushing my husband to give me a clear cut answer - is it in the budget or not. He said I should just choose. That freaked me out. So I did some thinking around that. And this is why I hate gray! I
