What is awakening?
You've probably heard that we are divine spiritual beings having a human experience — a spark of the actual creative energy that creates worlds.
We already are Divine, but somewhere along our journey, that Divine Spark gets muddied up and hard for us to find, believe, and feel. Why is that?
As we grow up and live our lives, we create meaning about ourselves, others, and the world in response to happenings, which then creates filters through which we see and experience our reality.
Language is the first filter. Mama. Apple. Dog. We label things and attribute meaning to them through language as we grow and have experiences with these things.
Mama = warm, food, comfort.
Apple = juicy, sweet, pleasure.
Dog = soft, friend, fun (or scary, big, unpredictable, as is often the case).
We create meaning with every interaction, and each meaning builds upon the last.
Mom says I’m annoying becomes “I’m unlovable.”
The meanings we create create our life experience. This happens automatically, according to the stories we’ve created about how life works. Consider the stories we’ve been telling — we’ve been telling them for the entirety of our lives! This is why we can no longer see the story.
It’s like learning to walk. In the beginning, we had to struggle to walk. We had to think about it, balance, use trial and error, try and try again! After a while though, walking became automatic. We totally take knowing how to walk for granted.
It’s the same with our stories. They’ve become automatic “ways of life,” and we automatically behave according to these stories.
I’m unlovable → I have to go above and beyond to get love → It’ll never happen for me.
Remember, this happens under the surface. You may not actually hear the thoughts “I’m unlovable,” but if you keep pushing love away, this may be an unconscious thought/program.
A spiritual awakening is when we shed these unhelpful ways of being, thoughts, and beliefs. It is quite literally a removal of all that does not serve us, returning us to that Divine Being we were initially born as — worthy of ALL GOOD THINGS.
As a Divine Spiritual Being having a human experience, awakening can happen in a variety of ways. Sometimes it happens through an experience like a near-death experience or a drastic life event. During this time, people have a unique opportunity to peer beneath the veil of reality and have a firsthand experience of the bigger picture of who we really are. There are many stories of people experiencing their expansion beyond the body and then returning to the body to live out the rest of their lives with this knowledge in place.
Some people catch a glimpse of this awakening, expansion, and connection to all-that-is through a psychedelic journey or through breathwork.
This can create a lasting memory.
Another way to experience an awakening is to undergo a process of self-discovery and self-inquiry into what programs we’ve put into place in our lives. We can shine the light on the self-imposed limitations we’ve picked up along our life’s journey, which in itself begins to remove their hold over us. This process of conscious awakening is achieved by removing the filters through which we see life.
The result is LIBERATION. It’s PEACE. It’s LOVE.
It’s knowing that you belong. That there is nothing wrong with you — and there never was.
It’s saying goodbye to unhealthy relationships. It’s no longer putting yourself last. It’s lasting happiness that carries you through life’s challenges with grace and poise. It’s the feeling of connection that you’ve longed for. Awakening is knowing all is well in the universe and being able to rest in that knowing.
If you are yearning for a conscious awakening, let’s talk.
