Tonight, members of the Townsend Township Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in an excellent training session presented by Columbia Gas, covering natural gas and propane emergencies.

Our firefighters gained valuable knowledge about the hazards associated with natural gas and propane, as well as important safety considerations when responding to these types of emergencies.

A special thank you to Columbia Gas and the Huron County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) for coordinating and bringing this valuable training to our station!

We appreciate your time, knowledge, and continued support in helping keep our firefighters and community safe.

Training never stops, and every opportunity to learn makes us better prepared to serve!

We had a great time spending the day with the kids celebrating Fire Safety Week! 🚒🔥

It was a wonderful opportunity to teach the students about fire prevention, staying safe, and what firefighters do to help our community.

Thank you to the school, teachers, and students for having us! We always enjoy getting out into the community and spending time with the next generation.

Please join us next Sunday for our Annual Open House at Station 1. We have activities planned that you can join in on, or just stop in for a quick lunch and visit with our members. Also, for those teenagers aged 14 - 17, this is a great opportunity to learn about our Explorer Program. We hope to see you on the 27th!!!

It was great seeing everyone and spending the morning with our community. We truly appreciate the continued support you show our department. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you!

Grain Bin Rescue Training

Today, a couple of our members had the opportunity to participate in grain bin rescue training with the Norwalk Fire Department.

Grain bin emergencies present unique challenges, and hands-on training like this helps keep our firefighters prepared to respond safely and effectively when called upon.

A big thank you to the Norwalk Fire Department for inviting our members and others, and providing this valuable training opportunity. We appreciate the continued cooperation and training opportunities between our local departments throughout the county.
