Grain Bin Rescue Training

Today, a couple of our members had the opportunity to participate in grain bin rescue training with the Norwalk Fire Department.

Grain bin emergencies present unique challenges, and hands-on training like this helps keep our firefighters prepared to respond safely and effectively when called upon.

A big thank you to the Norwalk Fire Department for inviting our members and others, and providing this valuable training opportunity. We appreciate the continued cooperation and training opportunities between our local departments throughout the county.

Today, we were excited to take delivery of our new Skeeter Brush Truck! This apparatus will replace our 54-year-old brush truck, ensuring our firefighters have safer, more reliable equipment to protect our community for years to come.

This purchase was made possible through a grant that covered 90% of the cost. Our recently acquired rescue truck was also funded primarily through grant dollars, allowing us to significantly improve our emergency response capabilities while minimizing the financial impact on our township.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Gatchell Grant Services for their expertise and assistance in securing these grants. We also want to thank the Townsend Township Trustees for their continued support and for approving these important investments in public safety.

Most importantly, thank you to the residents of Townsend Township. Your continued trust and support make projects like this possible, and we remain committed to providing the highest level of service to our community.

We look forward to placing this new brush truck into service and continuing to serve Townsend Township with pride.

The guys and their wives participated in the fire games at the Wakeman homecoming festival. They had a blast! See everyone next year!

🚧 Road Closure Update – Hartland Center Road 🚧
Just so everyone is aware, there has been a change to the road closure on Hartland Center Road.
The previously announced closure of Hartland Center Road between US 20 and Collins Road, which was originally scheduled from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM Thursday and Friday, has been extended due to the discovery of a large amount of concrete beneath the roadway during construction.
As a result, Hartland Center Road will remain fully closed tonight and is expected to reopen by 5:00 PM tomorrow (Friday).
Please seek an alternate route and allow extra travel time while this work is completed.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as crews work to complete the project safely.
