I’m seeing more and more businesses add a “card charge fee” to the tab (not just restaurants).
Why is that all of a sudden an acceptable practice? Just because the guy down the street does it?
Accepting cash has costs too, they’re just indirect.
And if you look at all of the ways managing cash costs you, I’d argue that it usually costs MORE than those card fees.
(Still waiting on some good research to prove this out)
Stop adding fees and just build it into the price.
Trust me, it looks a lot worse than the higher price.
Note: I am not anti-cash. We need cash in circulation. There are many under-/un-banked people that can only use cash.
But it would be irresponsible to assume that accepting cash is free.
