It’s a beautiful day at craft show. I’ll be here from 10-4 today. I have handspun yarn, woven items, knitted items, and needle felted animals and mushroom houses. 🍄‍🟫🍄

No resolutions for me but happy to finish up some spinning work. This will be going to CT. It’s dog fur. This was not the easiest to spin since the person had the dog fur cut and there are some shorter pieces. In my opinion brushed is always better.

It’s good to finish things so you can go onto other things. This wheel belonged to my good friend and spinning teacher Faith. I think of her often and always when I’m spinning or working with fiber. She was an amazing spinner, artist and most importantly a good friend.

As of today, October 1st, Fido’s Fiber is a registered business in NJ. The move from CT is compete and we’re in Ocean County. The wheels and looms are ready, and the fiber studio is coming along. I’m hoping to find some Holiday markets to sell at before the end of the year. Stay tuned for other ideas and hopes I have for my business here in NJ.

I still have some CT customers and hope/plan to keep business with them.

I usually buy these summer flowers every summer. They are one of my favorites. I can’t think of what they are called though. This summer, there were no flowers to be bought because of all the busyness happening.

This volunteer plant spraying up about a month ago and is right outside the door I walk out of every day. They have brought me comfort and joy, but today I was able to actually take a moment to a really appreciate them.

I’m thankful for their beautiful surprise. ☺️🧡

Update on Quincy. This is an older photo.

On July 19th Quincy got out and didn’t return. We heard fighting in the woods and although we looked for him, we feared the worst.

Yesterday he returned after being gone 12 days. He went to our vet today. He is dehydrated and lost weight. Please send him good thoughts for recovery. We’re hoping that over time that he fully recovers. We don’t know where he was for 12 days, but we’re so thankful he came home.

I’m so thankful we were able to bring him to , and Dr. C to have him checked out.

Last time passing this little alien. From October 21-tonight I taught AP Music Theory to HS students. Each Monday for 90 minutes we would have our class. I really enjoyed working with these students. Many are taking multiple AP tests and music is not even their core subject. They amaze me - it’s been a joy to get to know them.

Sometimes you’re a teacher and sometimes you’re a student. A teacher/friend very dear to me died today. In 2006 I walked into Country Yarns and took a flyer about how to spin. A few weeks later Bette and I walked in to meet Faith Wight. She always told the story that when she saw us the thought “Friends”. She loved to tell that story. She was my spinning teacher/friend and mentor. I will post more about her later, but she was a master spinner (HGA certified), musician, a lover of God, animals and people and could do pretty much anything she set her mind to. In the last year her memory was taken away, but even when we visited her she said I don’t know you but I know I love you. The second picture is a bookmark she gave me. Rest in Peace dear friend.

This beautiful woven bread bag is from the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center, . It is made from linen which naturally allows the bread to breathe. There are still a few available. I was so fortunate to receive this as a birthday present from my good friend.

We had our taxes done today with our good friend in Rhode Island. I made a plain sourdough and a rye sourdough. They made shepherds pie. We all had a wonderful time breaking bread and enjoying a meal and conversation. It’s nice to take the time to do that with people. My soul is renewed.
