Today, I want to explain why I am asking for your support to continue serving on the Colonial Heights City Council.
Colonial Heights has always been my home. I was born and raised here, and both of my parents retired after serving the City of Colonial Heights. My wife and I own Discovery World Child Care Center here in Colonial Heights, and I serve as Assistant Operations Manager at E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory in Colonial Heights and Petersburg. Our two daughters also attend Colonial Heights Public Schools. This community means everything to our family.
It has been my honor and pleasure to serve as a member of City Council and as Vice Mayor of Colonial Heights. I am proud of the progress we have made and excited about the opportunities ahead.
Colonial Heights is a great place to live, work, raise a family, and have fun. We have many exciting projects underway, including the new Senior Citizens and Youth Center at the former Colonial Christian Church, continued economic development, and the possibility of a new sports complex that could bring additional activities and revenue to our city.
We are fortunate to have great city employees and outstanding Police, Fire and EMS, and Public Works departments. As a Council, we have worked to keep tax rates steady, improve our roads, keep employee salaries competitive, support and fund our schools, and continue providing some of the best city services possible.
Can we continue to improve? Absolutely—and I am committed to working hard every day to make Colonial Heights an even better place for our citizens, families, businesses, and employees. I would be honored to have your support as I seek to continue serving the city I have always called home.
