Staying Focused on What's Important
With everything that is vying for our attention today, it's important to remember why we're here. It is too easy to get distracted by the "Priority 1" tasks of work or school, but at the very root of our being is God's perfect will for our lives. The path on to that perfect will is mapped out in plain view for us to discover everyday. His will for us is to grow and mature into people that love Him for who He is, what He has done, and what He's going to do.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.”
Psalms 37:23 NKJV
Our paths may look different, but the end goals are still the same: to have a peace that surpasses understanding, to find deep satisfaction in the work that we do, and to feel like we belong to a group or family that cares.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, your soul, your mind, and strength and that restful contentment will be found in abundance everyday.
-Surround yourself with people that have values in alignment with what God values and you will find a community that loves you no matter what.
- Think about everything you do as if it were serving Him directly. This will give you the satisfaction that what you are doing is for Him. He sees your efforts to do well and the things that no one else knows about.
-Spend time thinking about what God's Word means for your life today, and you will see His path for your day more clearly. This will lead to peace where you expect chaos and allow you to breathe when you think you can't.
