Access Products, Inc. is looking for a Research & Proposal Specialist
Access Products, Inc. is looking to fill the hybrid role of Research & Proposal Specialist. This position will look at increasing our business's competitiveness and profitability related to multiple government contracts. This role will report directly to the GSA Contracts & Compliance Director. Access Products, Inc. is one of the largest Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small-Business’ working directly with the Federal Government.
The primary responsibility of this hybrid roll is Research and data collecting. This position lives in excel, if you love excel and you like manipulating data, ensuring accuracy and integrity, this position will be a great fit for you. Research is approximately 75% of this role. Constant scraping of multiple monthly vendor price files, monitoring part numbers, preparing, and presenting the files for the review and approval of the Director. This position is constantly monitoring upcoming prices and products, while also assisting to maintain current and future price files and validating descriptions.
The Proposal Specialist job duties related to this hybrid position require the ability to read, understand and develop quality
responses related to Government Request for Quotes or Proposals (RFQ/RFP). Proposal development is approximately 25% of this role. (The percentages of job duties are subject to change depending on company needs.) This position will support and coordinate the necessary proposal response activities between each division of the company. The tasks will be detailed and will require the following duties: (not all inclusive) draft review, editing, wordsmithing, merging/gathering data, and presenting the final draft once ready for submission.
The qualified candidate ensures a high quality of all expected deliverables for both aspects of this position. There are associated tasks and detailed metrics to meet each performance standard.
This position demands a an organized “initiative-taker" with the desire to learn the intricacies of doing business with the federal government.
This position will be required to use sophisticated methods, metrics, and tools to achieve the goals of the position.
Duties and Responsibilities -
• Assessing data from a variety of vendors to maintain a full and accurate product line of the company’s portfolio.
• Ability to compare multiple spreadsheets to give reports of any changes in obsolete, out of stock or new products.
• Must be able to verify country of origin and made in the USA for current and new products.
• Collaborating with peers to change or improve product upload or data maintenance.
• Preparing and presenting final spreadsheets to the GSA Contracts & Compliance Director for approval.
• Manage invitations for various proposal team meetings.
• Perform desktop publishing in MS Word, MS Excel, and other tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Writer) to ensure documents are properly formatted, compliant with RFP requirements, easy to read, and visually appealing and follow RFP font and size constraints.
• Must be able to work effectively under time constraints in a dynamic environment, while maintaining a high level of diligence.
• Organize and maintain proposal documents as directed.
• Record all notes during proposal meetings, recording status and action items, and follow up on those action items as needed.
• Set up lesson learned meetings for unsuccessful RFP responses to learn what we can do better.

Education and Qualifications
• An associate degree in business or in a related field.
• Excellent skills in Excel are mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 (five) years' experience working in contracts preferred.
• Proficiency in NetSuite is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of data comparison and analysis preferred.
• Ability to present readable and usable reports and proposals.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Compensation (Pay):
• Starting at $23.07/hourly, negotiable and will be based on experience.
Supplemental Health Benefits:

• Voluntary Life Insurance is available for the employee to purchase for themselves and their spouse, costs will be deducted from bimonthly payroll. **

• 401k Investment/Retirement Plan – Employee only participation. ***
* Eligible on the 1st day of the month following the introductory period.
