šš The latest link, ADHD and dementia. We know ADHD is hereditary, but we also know of the links between ADHD and substance abuse. It's important to also think about the work and lifestyle that would be "typical" for an adult with ADHD. Many of our soldiers, firefighters, police officers, teachers, paramedics and other intense positions that allow for more "doing" are the careers ADHDers find themselves excelling in. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy reading about this stuff and seeing how it fits in with my own family (and it does), but I often find the strengths of this population are ignored or misunderstood and all we're left with are the negatives. š§ š
