I have noticed a need and desire for people to be able to completely customize their wedding ceremony, which isn't something most churches will let you do. Gift giving advice from Angela based on the 5 love languages.

I recommend not getting your spouse clothing you intend to later steal or gifts that involve an obligation for them to do something for you.

If your love language is gift giving, this not likely your kind of problem, as you would generally be very good at picking out gifts that honor the love between you.

But if your love language is service, watch out that you don’t inadvertently ask your partner to do things for you when you get them a gift.

When gift giving, try to identify the receiver’s love language and honor that as best you can.

If their love language is words of affirmation, but you feel unable to put words together for them, then find a card that says it for you. And then write in the card that you may have trouble finding the words they find dear, but you found a way to share your feelings anyway. Don’t just sign it.

Generally you can tell in your own relationship what kind of love language you both have. And if your spouse is different from you (often the case), you’ll have to work extra hard at going against your natural instincts all the time to ensure they feel how much love you have for them.

Post-COVID, contact me if this is your jam. phraseology is all about making your day as YOU as possible. That means I’m LGBTQ-friendly, pet-friendly, outdoors-friendly (but admittedly I’m not great at hiking-so let’s plan accordingly), and theme/costume-friendly (within reasonable modesty for me and at your cost. If you want Batman to officiate your wedding; I’ll do my best. If you want to go skyclad, no problem, but I’m sure we can agree on something for me to wear.)
