A tip that actually drives results:
The patient experience will never outperform the team experience.

Patients can feel tension.
They can sense confusion.
They can tell when standards shift based on who they interact with.

You don't fix that with a new scanner or passive leadership.

Clear expectations. Defined non-negotiables
Coaching that happens in real time.
Follow-up that is consistent, not reactive.

When we avoid hard conversations, patient care gets sloppy.
When training is rushed, confidence suffers.
When accountability fades, so does commitment.

If you want to improve team performance, look at what they experience daily.

Are they supported? Corrected? Developed? Or are they guessing?

What your team experiences internally will always show up externally.

What the team believed: Assistants should jump in and help sterilization, rooms, etc. without being asked.

What was actually happening: The newest assistant stays in their lane.

Resulting resentment:
Team: “She’s not a team player.”
Assistant: “No one told me that was expected.”

To be clear is to be kind. Let’s stop assuming and start defining.
