What an experience at the Executive Summit!

Last week, Executive Officer, Marla Novak, attended alongside HBA member Jill Webb for a day of leadership development and meaningful connections with business leaders in our community.

Hearing from guest speaker Rachel Beck, Executive Director with the Colorado Chamber Foundation (longtime friend and colleague!) was a highlight, as she brought valuable insight and a fresh perspective to the conversation.

Opportunities like this reinforce the importance of learning together and taking those ideas back to our members and industry. Thank you to Jill for representing the HBA community.

The latest housing snapshot shows a market in transition.

Single-family construction is slowing, multifamily is on the rise, and builder confidence remains below neutral. Affordability, rising costs, and economic uncertainty continue to shape decisions across the industry.

While conditions remain challenging, the demand for housing has not gone away. That’s why we remain focused on supporting solutions that keep housing attainable and our industry moving forward.

More than 480 local industry members means more connections, more exposure, and more opportunities to grow your business.

An HBA membership is more than benefits, education, and advocacy. It is direct access to the people and partnerships that help you succeed in a growing market.

Did you know that our member companies and partners represent 10,000 local jobs across El Paso County? That what we call real local impact.

What a turnout at today’s Toolkit Tuesday!

We dove into the Wildfire Resiliency Code and what it means for our community, with insights from the Colorado Springs Fire Department on the differences between Class 1 and Class 2 areas and how building requirements are evolving—not just for new construction, but remodels too.

Attendees also got valuable tools and maps to better understand wildfire risk in the areas they’re working in. To understand the risks in areas you might be working in, visit: https://www.coswildfireready.org/know-your-homes-wildfire-risk
